Ukraine war: Zelensky says situation in Bakhmut worsening

The situation in the city of Bakhmut, on the eastern frontline, is becoming "more and more difficult", Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.
Russian forces have been trying to take the city for over six months.
"The enemy is constantly destroying everything that can be used to protect our positions", Mr Zelensky stated.
The Ukrainian leader's remarks came as US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned China against arming Russia during a visit to Kyiv on Monday.

Both. Bakhmut is the lynchpin of the so-called Zelensky Line in Donestk. It's really important. When the Zelensky Line collapses, the Ukrainians have no secondary line of defense all the way from Donetsk to Kiev. The war will then transition from the middlegame to the endgame.

I believe this as well. It is difficult to be hopeful.
Either Russia or China will tire enough of us to send something large our way.
And yet Biden and friends just keep guiding us to WW3.

The war will drag on after this, a new line will be drawn and a new place to hold and die. The war will not end quick but drag on and on with one battle after another until things change and the money runs out. But, change they will. All wars end in time. There will be no clear winner.
