New York(CNN) Rupert Murdoch, the chairman of Fox Corporation, acknowledged in a deposition taken by Dominion Voting Systems that some Fox News hosts endorsed false claims that the 2020 election was stolen.
Murdoch's remarks were made public in a legal filing as part of Dominion's $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox News.
In his deposition, Murdoch rejected that the right-wing talk network as an entity endorsed former President Donald Trump's election lies. But Murdoch conceded that Sean Hannity, Jeanine Pirro, Maria Bartiromo, and former host Lou Dobbs promoted the falsehood about the presidential contest being stolen.
"Some of our commentators were endorsing it,," Murdoch said, according to the filing, when asked about the talk hosts' on-air positions about the election. "I would have liked us to be stronger in denouncing it, in hindsight," he added.
The filing also revealed that Murdoch referred to some of Trump's 2020 election lies as "bulls**t and damaging."
In a Monday statement, Fox News assailed Dominion.
"Dominion's lawsuit has always been more about what will generate headlines than what can withstand legal and factual scrutiny," the network said, "as illustrated by them now being forced to slash their fanciful damages demand by more than half a billion dollars after their own expert debunked its implausible claims."
"Their summary judgment motion took an extreme, unsupported view of defamation law that would prevent journalists from basic reporting and their efforts to publicly smear Fox for covering and commenting on allegations by a sitting President of the United States should be recognized for what it is: a blatant violation of the First Amendment," the network added.
The messages showed that Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham brutally mocked lies being pushed by former President Donald Trump's camp asserting that the election was rigged.

Is Klaus Schwab and his World Enslavement Forum paying Fox to to talk crap like the rest of the MSM ?
The last paragraph got cut up, bad editing on my part. This is posted to make the last sentence above make sense.
In another filing made public earlier this month, a trove of messages and emails from the most prominent stars and highest-ranking executives at Fox News showed they had privately ridiculed claims of election fraud in the 2020 election, despite the right-wing channel promoting lies about the presidential contest on its air.
The messages showed that Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham brutally mocked lies being pushed by former President Donald Trump’s camp asserting that the election was rigged.
Was there ever a serious investigation that proved these so called lies?
False????
“False claims” CNN? You mean the claims that you bent over backward to not investigate at all? Those claims, CNN? You just labeled them all false and slammed an iron curtain down on any reporting about anything. You just wanted to go with the BS that it was the cleanest and most secure election in history and damned if you’re not still at it.
Yellow journalism is one thing, but you guys have turned into blood-red communists with your constant democrat propaganda.
“false stolen election claims” is false.
I’m still trying to figure out how Fox calling Arizona for Biden influenced the 2020 election. Can someone help a brutha out?
The one thing that we do know is that the Slug Potato Joe did not get 81 million votes. He did not get more votes than Obama so we know he cheated.
The claims have never been proven true or false. They have been declared false. Any disagreement with the declaration that the claims are false is a matter of opinion and therefore free speech. There is anecdotal evidence that the claims are true but they have not been investigated. Never before in history has the person who was leading a presidential election when people went to bed that night not won the election.
Claiming that the allegations are ‘false’ is editorializing.
Editorializing is defined as inserting personal opinions into objective statements.
Well said...
The Supreme Court did a huge disservice to Americans by not hearing a case. Whichever way they ruled, the evidence would have been presented instead of being thrown out on technicalities.
It didn't influence the out come, per se, but it sure seemed shady that Fox was declaring a Biden victory in a heretofore red State very early in the counting. I.e., How did Fox know that Biden was going to win? It raised suspicions that Fox management was in on the vote theft scheme from the beginning.
If anyone suggested that there were irregularities that should have been looked into, the left flew into a hysterical tirade about conspiracies and endorsements of a stolen election. Their reaction made me suspect that something was being covered up that terrified them. It was very telling, to me anyway. To this day I believe there was massive fraud based just on how they react whenever the topic is broached.
Murdoch is a weak and foolish old man.
Trump lost the election by 43,000 votes in WI, GA,and AZ.
The essential issues are how many ineligible voters voted, and how many ballots had no verifiable chain of custody.
None of the top Fox News reporters were claiming mysterious computer issues with Dominion voting machines after the first week.
They may have reported the accusations about Dominion and interviewed various Fox commentators about Dominion, but none of the major Fox News reporters were claiming the accusations were true after the first week.
There was massive fraud caught on tape in Atlanta Ga!! No one has ever denied the fact that Ruby Freeman and her Daughter fed ballots into the counting machines multiple times!!
Now, when are CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, and NBC admit that they told lies about Trump (Russia Collusion, Fine People, WW1 dead “suckers”, Russian Bounty, etc., etc.) for the last 8 years?
Hey Rubert, the claims were not false.
