President Donald Trump is seeing 50 percent support in the hypothetical 2024 Republican primary field, the latest Morning Consult survey found.
The survey, updated on Tuesday, shows the former president soaring over his potential challengers, as half of potential GOP primary voters said they will support Trump in the primary race.
The poll listed several other potential challengers, including former Vice President Mike Pence and Nikki Haley, the latter of whom formally jumped into the presidential ring last week.
Not one candidate came close to Trump in terms of support. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who has yet to announce a 2024 presidential bid, fell 20 percent behind Trump with 30 percent support.

Jeb?
So which of the handles posting on FR are part of that 3%?
While I think DeSantis is the better of the two because he appears less likely to surround himself with traitorous actors, Trump is still the only one willing to fight ugly enough to counter the outright fraud and criminal actions the democrats employ.
In the end I think Trump more likely to fight the machine enough to even have a chance at winning, problem is he goes off the rails with his ego.
Oh and has a proven track record of hiring horrible people for government service, he tends to hire seditious traitors.
Jeb = Sununu/Hogan/Christie/Youngkin = 0%
Thanks, guys, but we are moving on.
Trump is the only candidate who can resolve the Ukraine War.
I’m surprised that Nikki Haley is as high as 6%. And Liz Cheney at 3%? That’s highly unlikely, unless Democrats were polled.
50% may be enough to win the nomination, but it is a terrible performance for the Republican two-time nominee.
It is a waving red flag, even though many folks here are deep in denial.
Worthless poll this far out...it is meaningless.
I actually know a live human being Cheney Republican supporter.
She is beyond brain dead.
“problem is he goes off the rails with his ego.”
I think that he is going to minimize that this time around. He may take a little more of a solemn tone given the trouble that our country is in.
He will run anti-war and gobble up a surprising amount of democrat voters. My fear is that there may not be elections in 2024 for some reason. It’s possible that our country will be heavily damaged by WWIII by then.
“hypothetical” is the keyword in this situation...
Mike Pence: 6%
Nikki Haley: 6%
Liz Cheney: 3%
I don’t believe any of those. Maybe Pence on the basis of name recognition, but even that is doubtful.
There are no “challengers” yet, except Haley. And she’s probably only in the race to be his VP!
Time for The Hill to put out a contradicting poll. Or for that matter breitbart may do it themselves. They are known for putting out crappy polls too.
This makes the neocons crazy...er.
All this assumes that Trump isn't indicted, jailed or given the Epstein treatment (or all three) prior to the convention.
There’s other polls out there...

DeSantis comes out on top by a 53% to 40% margin, including a slight 49% to 46% edge among those who call themselves “strong Republicans.” DeSantis is preferred over Trump among nearly every major voting bloc in the party
“While I think DeSantis is the better of the two because he appears less likely to surround himself with traitorous actors,”
I expect more critical thinking from FR posters.
