Individuals who were previously infected with COVID-19 are at least as well-protected against severe disease in the long run and may even have better protection, according to a recent study published in The Lancet.
The study reviewed 65 different findings on natural immunity, with the results suggesting that natural immunity is at least 88% effective against hospitalization and death from all COVID-19 variants, for around 10 months after infection.
However, the study did not account for the XBB.1.5 subvariant, also known as Omicron. Natural immunity provided less protection against the BA.1 subvariant of Omicron, which recorded a 36% efficacy against symptomatic infection after 10 months.
Despite the significant findings, the research team continued to encourage the use of COVID vaccinations as a method of acquiring immunity against COVID-19, despite widespread concern about potential side effects.
“Vaccination is the safest way to acquire immunity, whereas acquiring natural immunity must be weighed against the risks of severe illness and death associated with the initial infection," said lead author Stephen Lim, from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington’s School of Medicine.

And no boosters.
To get Natural Immunity, you first have to survive Covid with no protection.

Getting natural immunity by surviving Covid with no protection is like trying to build a house by setting it on fire and hoping that the parts that don’t burn will be stronger. Just as a house fire destroys more than it strengthens, Covid can cause severe harm to your body even if you eventually develop immunity. It’s much safer and more effective to protect yourself from the virus through vaccination and other preventative measures, rather than relying on the chance of surviving a potentially life-threatening illness.
Getting natural immunity from COVID-19 without any protection is like trying to cross a treacherous river without a life vest. You may be able to make it to the other side, but there is a significant risk that you will drown along the way. Similarly, while surviving COVID-19 without any protection may result in natural immunity, there is also a risk of severe illness, hospitalization, or even death. It’s important to take precautions to protect yourself and others, such as getting vaccinated, wearing masks, and practicing social distancing.
It’s like trying to climb a steep mountain with no safety gear or harness. While it’s possible to reach the top and achieve the goal, the risk of falling and suffering serious injury is extremely high. Similarly, while it’s possible to develop natural immunity by surviving Covid without protection, the risk of serious illness, hospitalization, and even death is also high. Just as a safety harness can reduce the risk of injury while climbing, getting vaccinated and following safety measures can reduce the risk of contracting Covid and suffering severe illness.
It’s like jumping out of a plane without a parachute in the hope that you’ll land safely and your body will develop resistance to the impact. Yes, some people may survive the fall and develop natural immunity to the impact, but the vast majority will not be so lucky and will suffer serious injuries or even death. Similarly, while it is true that some people who contract COVID-19 may develop natural immunity to the virus, the risk of severe illness or death is far too great to justify intentionally exposing oneself to the virus without protection. It is always better to take preventative measures such as vaccination, wearing a mask, and social distancing to reduce the risk of infection and severe illness.
It’s not valid to compare the risk of Natural Immunity to Vaccines, unless you include the risk of having Covid 19 to gain the Natural Immunity.
The comparison should be:
Covid 19 + resulting Natural Immunity vs
Vaccines
Now that it now longer matter Lancet wants to try to regain their reputation. But I remember their lies and deceit when millions of lives were at stake.
IT’S NOT A F*CKING VACCINE!!!! Good grief I wish they would quit calling it that. It’s a glorified flu shot.
99.7+ % of people did just that.
Okay Danny...

You make "surviving covid" sound like a risky proposition. It's not for most people. Survival rate of the disease is 99+% of all cases, even though it's almost impossible to find that admitted anywhere.
I've never caught covid, that I know of, but it can be so mild, many people apparently do not even know it when they have it. Therefore, a lot of people may not want to take the vaccine, due to possible complications from it, as the symptoms of covid can be mild, and they may already be protected anyway.
Especially after reading this. Because the value of the vaccine "symptom reduction" is difficult to quantify, anyway.
Several Factoids.
These concoctions are not vaccines.
Several treatments prevented MILLIONS of deaths in other countries. The EVIL powers that be not only played down the effectiveness, they threatened anyone who might speak up.
These concoctions are not vaccines.
Monoclonal antibodies are very successful, even with people who are very ill.
Did I mention, these concoctions are not vaccines.
I cringe literally every time I have to type the word vaccine. I need to settle on something I routinely use instead, just haven’t settled on something yet. Probably something like DNA Death Shot.
infants to young adults have a case-fatality of 0.0% to 0.02% — effectively natural immunity
The cult of medicine, however, needs revenue regardless of ethics.
>> Survival rate of the disease is 99+%
Actually far better for the young.
In other news, the sun rises in the east, water is wet, and bears sh*t in the woods.
Many people listened to honorable doctors and prepared by making sure their Vitamin D levels were up, stocked up on Ivermectin and/or Hydroxychloroquin, took quercetin and zinc, etc. Then if they caught Covid, they got over it quickly.
99.9%+ survival rate for people with no comorbidities.
I survived it with ease at the age of 67 and have the persistent antibodies to prove it.
PING
I survived it at 70, ditto for my wife, 69 at the time. Though I suspect it was the milder later version. A friend (same age) and her husband (9 years older) had it and she said it was hell for almost 3 weeks. Purebloods, like my wife and I.
In life you play the odds, no guarantees. Odds are, if you are in good health, the virus is safer.
People don’t realize that you build immunity to viruses by coming into contact with them, even when you don’t appear to “catch” them, i.e. show symptoms. If one is exposed to the virus there is a positive effect even without getting sick.
