The DeSantis strategy: Ignore an increasingly agitated Trump
The hill ^ | 02/05/2023 | JOE CONCHA

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is nearly three months old, but already it’s clear whom he sees as his biggest threat with the Iowa caucuses still a year away: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The perspective comes as Trump continues to act more like an underdog in the race for the Republican nomination. In recent days, the former president has gone after DeSantis, with Trump somehow claiming that Florida “was closed for a long period of time” after the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020.

“They’re trying to rewrite history,” he added of DeSantis in an interview earlier this week.

It’s an odd front for Trump to open given that he praised DeSantis’s re-opening approach three years ago. Not surprisingly, the 45th president also failed to mention that he advocated lockdowns in the spring of 2020.

Reagan singed off on an amnesty of millions of illegals. Not something Trump would have ever done.

“This is how passive agression works You know that.”

‘So either DeSantis is passive aggressive if he doesn’t respone to Trump’s insults or he is disloyal if he does. Right.’

No

RDS has 30? electoral votes in his state. He’s governor. He is governor in large part because Trump, from a massively popular position in the White House endorse DeSantis at DeSantis’ request

Trump does the same l, in return, to DeSantis. DeSantis says take a hike, I’m not endorsing you.

You’re a guy. When a guy did that to you or your buddy, growing up, learning the rules, you and your friends would never trust the guy again. Word would get out not to

Or did you call the guy who got double crossed ago maniac, loud mouthed, selfish?

The guy who didn’t return the favor when the generous guy is in great need is quiet about it, letting the generous guy get called names by the mob, not coming to his defense not returning the favor by doing the same, telling the mob ‘hey, he’s a great guy’ or ‘lay off’ while the mob continues to flock to tge double crosser. He revels in it, pretending he’s powerless

That’s passive aggressive.

And you know it.

Not my point. I am sure Florida loves its Governor and Texas loved its Senator. However like Texas, DeSantis vs. Trump would be divisive and nasty. In 2024 we will need every vote and we will not need a bunch of butt hurt voters because their candidate did not win. We had plenty of those in 2016 and even in 2020. in Texas.

“The good thing is, is that the people are able to render a judgment on that whether they re-elect you or not,” DeSantis said when asked about Trump, who lost his 2020 reelection.

Just another example of what I am talking about. DeSantis has no qualms whatsoever in freely repeating the lie that Trump lost the 2020 election.

Sure, Biden is the president, but in reality he is not the president he is a usurper, because the 2020 election was stolen. Anyone possessing a brain knows that was the reality.

Just like anyone with a brain knows that Kari Lake was the winner of the Arizona gubernatorial race and is the real governor.

Only corruption keeps both from their rightful offices.

Deception will allow the usurper's to continue to retain those offices.

Ron DeSantis has just shown those who are watching, that he is all too capable of employing deception.

We, who are watching are not falling for his deception. We don't accept it, and he is only convincing us that he will never be receiving our votes.

Florida will turn out for DeSantis. A few sour grapes may stay home but it won’t make a difference.

It won’t be as nasty as Texas because DeSantis won’t let it.

Going low won’t work for Trump in Florida.

“DeSantis has largely avoided responding to Trump’s digs. And without a campaign apparatus, he doesn’t have a rapid response team or surrogate operation designed to engage with 2024-related fire.”

Yeah he does. It’s called return tge favor. Endorse Trump or say why you won’t

Doesn’t take a team. It’s kind of girly man no?

Then there’s this, straight from the article:

“But earlier this week, he seemed to be knocking Trump — at least, indirectly — when asked about the former governor’s repeated attacks.”

Passive aggression Defined

trump’s “operation warped speech” against desantis has pissed off a lot of trump supporters in my area of florida...

it’s uncalled for...

it was desantis vs charlie crist in 2022...

he’s insinuating we made a bad choice and should’ve voted for the “globalist” charlie crist...

“Reagan singed off on an amnesty of millions of illegals. Not something Trump would have ever done.”

-———Trump Tweet on Amnesty Deal-—————

Amnesty will be used only on a much bigger deal, whether on immigration or something else. Likewise there will be no big push to remove the 11,000,000 plus people who are here illegally-but be careful Nancy!”

Perception is one thing reality is another. Trump doesn’t
occupy the President’s Office in DC at this time. That’s
reality now what caused that is totally another thing.

Amnesty happened under Reagan, and he allowed in millions of illegals.

Like it or not TexasTrumpHater, there was no amnesty under Trump, no matter how much you want to spin it.

No I think that he has been a very good Governor for Florida, but would make for a terrible president because there’s no doubt now that he’s just another neocon warmonger. That’s a red line for me.
