Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is nearly three months old, but already it’s clear whom he sees as his biggest threat with the Iowa caucuses still a year away: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
The perspective comes as Trump continues to act more like an underdog in the race for the Republican nomination. In recent days, the former president has gone after DeSantis, with Trump somehow claiming that Florida “was closed for a long period of time” after the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020.
“They’re trying to rewrite history,” he added of DeSantis in an interview earlier this week.
It’s an odd front for Trump to open given that he praised DeSantis’s re-opening approach three years ago. Not surprisingly, the 45th president also failed to mention that he advocated lockdowns in the spring of 2020.

desantis still hasn’t announced he’s running for president in 2024...
you’re prematurely ejaculating again...
None of the above. If Trump wants to declare early, as most believe was a scheme to avoid indictment and prosecution for possible crimes, that is his prerogative. It does not shift the entire primary schedule six months forward just because Trump chose to declare early for his own personal issues.
And with regard to "fair play" you seem concerned about, Trump endlessly attacking the Governor of Florida, who is of the same party and hasn't even indicated any interest in running for President, is quite appalling.
Even Joe Biden isn't attacking Gavin Newsome yet, and if he were, most Democrats would be saying WTF is wrong with that old selfish POS. Which is what a lot of Republicans are probably saying about Trump right now over his attacks of DeSantis.
So as the title of the thread advises, don't expect DeSantis to respond, nor should he, while Trump is busy digging.
“It does not shift the entire primary schedule six months forward just because Trump chose to declare early for his own personal issues.”
Ya. It sort of does. DeSantis knew going in to ask trump for much needed assistance that going along with trump in his political needs was part of the deal. I’d know that. If he wants to pretend and you all want to pretend that’s a prerogative
Sorry, "sort of" doesn't cut it. DeSantis is focusing on being the Governor of Florida and Trump is rampaging like a jilted lover, assaulting him with friendly fire. No one else in either party is campaigning, only Trump, and he looks quite desperate as a result.
please provide evidence to verify your claim that desantis asked trump for much needed assistance about anything...
Trump never attacks someone for no reason. So, he must know more than we do. If DeSantis is not running, why not stop the feud dead in its tracks?
No, he never did say that. Not once, that anyone has been able to show. Either provide the proof, or stop making the claim please. Hopefully you do care about the truth. Thanks.
Well, I know I have seen video confirming that he did say it, but it's not to be found right now. Not everything is on the internet forever. Some do have the power to eliminate it, apparently.
But there is this from 2021:
If you watch what is put on the screen you will, near the end, see the following:
DeSantis has been viewed as a political candidate for the republican presidential nomination in 2024, if Donald Trump were (sic) not run, but he dismissed those comments.
Not sure how to correctly interpret this part: but he dismissed those comments.
He doesn't say he won't run if he thought CRT had been defeated.
Thank you very much for your efforts to find any evidence of your original claim, and for providing wha you did find. I too, have looked before, but have not found any evidence that DeSantis ever said he wouldn’t run if Trump did, so hopefully we can now put that claim to rest.
Regarding the statement from DeSantis that he wanted to stamp out CRT in Florida before considering a run for the Oval Office, I think an honest assessment of that subject is he’s well on his way, if not already there. That included him even ending a controversial “black history” class, which was a very courageous position for him to take, but based on how the class focused not on the actual history, but obscure leftist concerns like “Black Queer History” which should be a footnote, at best.
We shall see who is correct about DeSantis' true intentions by this summer I predict.
I sincerely hope I am wrong, but my gut is telling me differently.
lefties call me brainwashed too..so I guess you guys have something in common.
but hey thanks for attacking the friendlies. shoot to the left, the leftists are the target. not the people in your foxhole.
