More Than 4 in 10 Republicans and a Third of Parents Now Oppose Schools Requiring Children to Get Vaccinated for Measles and Other Illness, Up Since the COVID-19 Pandemic Began

Amid controversies around the COVID-19 vaccine and growing distrust of public health authorities, more than four in ten Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, and a third of parents, now say they oppose requiring children in public schools to receive some childhood vaccines, up since 2019, a new KFF COVID-19 Vaccine Monitor survey finds.

Overall, nearly three in ten adults (28%) nationally now say that parents should be able to decide not to vaccinate their children for measles, mumps, and rubella rather than those vaccinations being required to attend public schools, up from 16% in a 2019 Pew Research Center poll conducted before the COVID-19 pandemic. Among parents, opposition to requiring those childhood vaccines now stands at 35%, up from 23% in 2019.

While most of the public still say that healthy children should be required to get those vaccines to attend public schools (71%), that share is down from 82% in 2019.

The growing opposition stems largely from shifts among people who identify as Republican or lean Republican, with 44% now saying parents should be able to opt out of those childhood vaccines, up from 20% in 2019. In contrast, the vast majority of Democrats and those who lean Democratic support requiring the vaccines for public school students (88%), little changed from 2019 (86%)

What I wrote is not mongering it is the truth.
I have worked in healthcare for over 30 years.
What I wrote is in fact the truth.
Are you familiar with the Iditarod race?
The first run of that now famous race was to get diphtheria vaccine because there was an outbreak of that disease that was killing children and adults.
Look it up.
The reason there were large families before vaccines were made was because the chance of a baby making it to their first birthday was slim.
If they made it to their first birthday, there was a chance that they would make it to their fifth birthday.
If they made it to five years old there was a very good chance they would make it to their 13th birthday, if they made it to 13 y/o then they would likely make it to 21 years old. If they made it to 21 they would likely have a long life.
Vaccines greatly reduced infant and child mortality.
That is medical and historical truth based on facts, not emotion or feelings.

85 percent of Americans obeyed without question and took the vax. That was the hill to die on, now your children and grandchildren ar being openly groomed and mutilated as teens.
Your obedience to the worst tyranny the world has seen has consequences. Good job.
They are just getting warmed up.

"My mother used to take us to measles, mumps and chicken pox parties so we could be exposed and get it over with . . ."

I wouldn't trust that immunization method with the current variants of measles.

Measles is far more dangerous than most people realize. A serious complication is acute encephalitis, or inflammation of the brain, which can result in permanent brain damage in one of every 1,000 cases. In the U.S., death from neurologic or respiratory complications of measles occurs in one to three of every 1,000 cases.

School-age children are recommended to receive yearly injections of common vaccines that include those for chickenpox, mumps, measles, rubella, tetanus, and influenza. In our school district, children are required to have medical documentation of immunization in order to attend class. I think that is wise because our region is a major port of entry.

The purpose of the vaccines is to provide herd immunity. For information about herd immunity, consult the many You Tube videos on the subject.

And here's where they are in LA County:

How'd we get here? Per this article-

In April 1977, a Childhood Immunization Initiative was announced with two goals: attainment of immunization levels of 90% in the nation's children by October 1979 and establishment of a permanent system to provide comprehensive immunization services to the 3 million children born each year in the United States. Increased funding was provided through Section 317, and a major effort was made to review vaccination records of school children and vaccinate those in need. State and local public health personnel reviewed >28 million records during a 2-year period. In addition, state and local authorities enacted and enforced school immunization requirements. By 1980, all 50 states had such laws, and since 1981, immunization levels of students entering schools have been ≥95%. Thus, the first target of the initiative was met.(emphasis added) Achieving the second target would take considerably longer.

I'm all for health care that...well...cares for health. I'm also for the rights of the individual, am against force and fraud, and for plenary parental rights.

The issue isn't whether injecting all of those elixirs into young bodies is right, wrong, efficacious, or poisonous. However, let's HAVE that discussion. I mean...what do the vaccinated have to fear?

The issue is the rights of PARENTS vs the State. If you oppose progressive educational nonsense and indoctrination, then you MUST oppose mandatory vaccinations for public school.

I agree.

It is child abuse. And parental rights abuse.

when the vax was hastily being rolled out, the statistical data from the “tested” vaccines was regularly posted. I don’t recall anyone calling those vaccines into question. Now it seems they’re being questioned, but I’m curious why now and not 1-2 years ago? Is that statistical data showing long term use, generally without objection, no longer valid?

I’ve spoken out early & frequently regarding the evils of vaxing the youth — a position I still hold. And FWIW, I’ve likely taken fewer shots than most here.

yes and just about that time we started having all kinds of developmental problems with American kids, with the advent of drugging them, and feeding them processed to death foods to keep them quiet in school for longer and longer periods.

coincidence. i don’t think so.

Also, in Sweden, people noticed that people who have more vitamin a have more bone problems. They stopped adding vitamin a to milk.

I have given vaccinations to adults and children for a long time.
I am familiar with the vac schedule as well.
The se vaccines are health care as they prevent disease in adults and children.

You have mental illness which is called liberalism.

AFAIK no so-called human pathogenic virus ever been isolated.

This Wikipedia, and do you understand what this mean?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Bardens

David Bardens (born 27 April 1984) is a German physician whose case was reported internationally in 2015 after the district court of Ravensburg had ruled that he should get the €100,000 prize money that biologist Stefan Lanka had promised to anyone who could provide information about the existence and size of the measles virus. This award was overturned by the Higher Regional Court (Oberlandesgericht) Stuttgart in 2016. Although six scientific publications were submitted that collectively demonstrated the existence and size of the virus, they failed to meet the exact contest requirements as set by Lanka.

That means Dr. David Bardens failed to prove measle virus exist, plain and simple.  Dr. Bardens didn't get any of the €100,000 prize money!

Definitely NOT a liberal in any sense of the definition.
So, when I checked a child who had a fever, headache, and these tiny, blue spot inside his mouth and sent a swab of the spots to the lab, and with a red, bumpy rash starting on his chest and shoulders, and, this child was never vaccinated because the parents didn’t believe that there was anything called a measles virus, and the lab test for the measles virus came back positive. Then he really didn’t have the measles?
And neither did I when I was a kid,? Not anyone else who have positive titers to MMR? , or Varicella, or Polio, or Hep A/B. How about all those folks who got the diseases (MMR, &Chicken Pox as a child).
Don’t know what you’re thinking .but the virus is real. Just ask folks in England, and Eastern Europe that have had major outbreaks of said virus in 2016-2019. (I was working in a US Army Health Clinic in Germany)since that doctor from England said that the MMR vaccine caused autism.
Turned out that he lied, lost his license to practice medicine. No one could reproduce the results he stated when they ran the tests he said he ran. He also had a beef against Merck.
All of the viruses and bacteria that we vaccinate children and adults for are very real and can and do cause illness, disability and death. That is a stone cold fact.

COVID shot, on the other hand, is definitely NOT a vaccine in any true definition of the word. It does not work like a true vaccine works, and it is showing that it is a dangerous and deadly gene therapy shot. They knew this before they got EUA approval as they had been experimenting on animals with these gene therapy shots for years and the animals were either disabled or died.
