One part I don’t get of the ‘be prepared’ mantra is having zero loans or debt. What is the point of being debt free in a high inflation, high interest rate scenario? Prior debt will be at lower interest rate then new debt and defaults will be common place. Plus you want the extra cash available to use advantageously in an credit crunch. I can see ‘be healthy’ and ‘have income’ being much more practical than not having debt.
