It is where they used to be. If there is a penny to be made the banks will be there.

If the banks had to evaluate student loans like they had to evaluate other loans:

"Tell me, young fellow. You want to study Neo-Fabian gay poetry as a major? And you want a loan for $200,000 to finance the education? Don't call us. We'll call you."

Just did some research. Apparently there are several banks that have student loans.
