Eight people were shot during a family-friendly MLK day event in Florida on Monday evening, leaving one person critically injured.
Gunfire broke out soon after 5pm triggering a chaotic frenzy that allowed the shooter to escape. They remained on the loose on Monday night and it is not yet known if more than one person fired.

Lots of evidence that these MLK events are anything but family friendly and often end in gunfire.
Same as driving down any given MLK blvd. Seeing that name, as Chris Rock has said means RUN:
Martin Luther King stood for nonviolence,” says comedian Chris Rock. 'Now what’s Martin Luther King? A street. And I don’t give a f*** where you are in America, if you on Martin Luther King Boulevard, there’s some violence going down.Later, Rock gives advice to anyone who finds themselves lost on an MLK-named street: 'Run! Run! Run!'
Can I guess or do I have to look?
Actually, black males between 17-44 are approximately just 2.5% of the population but commit over 50% of the violent crime in America.
>Can I guess or do I have to look?
No need
I’d like to save that statistic. Do you know where it can be found? /source? Thank you
add in some young females too
but its not the total 13%
Yes, and correctly.
I read the rest of the article. No perp description at all.
“A man’s gonna shoot up the street when a man wants to shoot up the street. Ain’t nobody gonna tell a man when to shoot up the street or not to shoot up the street.” - Hank ‘Smitty’ Smith.
Surprise, surprise, surprise...
I do appreciate the way localities warn visitors of the parts of town to avoid.
MLK!…no, stay on the highway!…
Last Friday, I was at a place where gunfire just “broke out” at precisely 1000 hrs, and continued all day. Some of the shooters even had extremely dark skin!
Oddly enough, nobody got hurt.
It’s not the guns ... it’s the nut behind the trigger.
Family-friendly.
They’sseee be just keepin’ it all in the family, bro....nice and friendly like.
Fayetteville Arkansas has a MLK but no Black community. The University gentrified the only Black neighborhood out of exitance. It's mainly the fast-food strip for the University students.
Before the Democrats has him killed the violence the the Black community wasn't that bad but it started heading that way right after he was killed.
Not in Baltimore.
There are worse. (Where my mother’s loser “cleaning woman” lives even people in Western MD know is bad!)
But yes, MLK at ground level is still pretty bad - or it draws a line thru all the bad.
Pretty much anything associated with any black person is associated with race baiting, grifting and violence.
Hence my hesitancy to push celebrating more useful people like Booker Washington, George W. Carver and Benjamin Banneker.
