Trump Dismisses COVID-19 Vax Safety Claims, Says He Saved 100 Million Lives

Former President Donald Trump has dismissed claims that COVID-19 vaccines are broadly unsafe while asserting that his own role in the development of the vaccines may have saved 100 million lives.

Trump touted the effectiveness of Operation Warp Speed, his administration's program to accelerate the development of COVID-19 vaccines and therapeutics, during a Monday interview on the conservative podcast The Water Cooler.

Host David Brody asked the former president if he would "acknowledge" that the vaccines "were not as safe or effective as we were told....

"I was able to get something approved that, you know, that has proven to have saved a lot of lives," Trump said, ignoring Brody's request to weigh in on the anti-vaccine narrative. "Some people say that I saved 100 million lives worldwide."

Trump touted the speed of vaccine development under his program, saying that he was "able to get [the vaccines] done in nine months...."

..."You have to understand, there are the pros and cons," said Trump. "Some reports [say] that it's the greatest thing that's ever happened and we saved tens of millions of lives. Then you'll read other reports [that] say there were some problems with the vaccine...but relatively small numbers....

Trump continues to shoot himself in the foot. He should have reversed course months ago. smh

Our beloved president Trump is a certified pathological germaphobe. The Covid trope was specifically engineered as a trap for him. It worked, brilliantly.

Okay, maybe not electing Hillary was a major mistake for the country.

On the other hand, it must be miserable having to go through life with solid bone between the ears.

More than that. He used executive privilege to take vaccines from egg-based to mRnA in September 2019.
Ran a U.S led pandemic exercise from Early 2019 to August 2019 (then followed up with EO). 2 months later John Hopkins had a 1 day exercise. At Event 201 a representative from JnJ said a vaccine could be done in record time and Trump obliged. A vaccine was nearly ready by then. BionTech had one in the works, they only needed the exact viral data. Their name for their work was ‘Project Lightspeed’ which existed PRIOR to Operation Warp Speed. Trump was ahead of this at every turn. Explain that.

That was a sensible post.

Biden, the Federal Government, the MSM have proceeded as though they take orders from Pfizer and Moderna: vaccine mandates, elimination of alternative treatments, silencing critics of the experimental mRNA vaccine, disciplinary actions against doctors that fail to toe the line, etc.

There has been an immense amount of social pressure on people. My doctors and pharmacists have been abysmal. Even now, I cannot go into a grocery store without hearing that my taking the jab protects me and everyone else.

I’d not say President Trump saved my life. But his early recommendation of HCQ and IVM did spur me to get a supply of both from India. I’m convinced taking those plus some supplements including Vit D3 and Zinc have helped me avoid COVID thus far. See tag.

I disagree with what Trump said, but remember that Trump is NOT a scientist. I doubt he has ever taken more than the minimum number of science courses in school. When Covid hit he was completely dependent on the people his advisers told him were the BEST. Unfortunately that turned out to be Fauci, Berks and other swamp people who had their own agenda. He blindly did what they told him to do. They are the ones that probably gave him those BS statistics.

The Perot circus in 1992 brought millions of voters into the mix who would not have voted at all if Perot wasn’t there, voters who understood that there was no functional difference between Bush and Clinton. Added to that, Clinton was a talented natural politician, and a smooth and experienced liar who fooled many people. Bush was an unappealing nebbish who won in 1988 because of Reagan’s popularity, and his opponent was an even worse choice.

As I recall, the popular vote in 1992 was something like 12 million more than in 1988, and the popular vote in 1996 dropped by 8 million.

A complex technical development has inherent risks. A complex technical development ‘speeded up’ has exponentially increased risks even if done for the best of reasons.

I've read Pharma has been playing around with mRNA for 30 years. Merck bought the rights to to it and put it on the shelf after 20 years. Pfiser and Moderna then ran with it about 10 years ago. I've seen suggestions that DOD and Intel agencies are behind the revival of the technology. I don't have a problem with rushing out drugs for the right to try, but mandating them is criminal. It looks to me like it is back to the drawing board...

What would things be like if those shots had gone through the normal process?

We might still be in a nationwide lockdown, with the economy in worse shape than it is now. Apart from questions of safety and effectiveness, the vaccines broke the back of the lockdowns.

There is no proof whatsoever that these fake vaccines helped early on. NO PROOF other than what the media said.

I disagree. The vaccines allowed blue states and metro areas to setup draconian vaccine passport measures that further crippled the economy.

Biden says he ‘started the vaccination program’

Let him take the credit and publish it in campaign commercials. Most of the voting public has short attention spans.

Agree!
Let me just add a complex technical development that’s biological in nature has a complexity of known & unknown risks, particularly if human life\health is involved.

It’s NOT like “quick building” a resort\construction project! Trump’s expertise.

Not what I said at all. Go back to my very first post on this thread.

Trump is a germaphobe and that was a major Achilles heel. Couple that with his pride, I wouldn’t trust him ever again in a pandemic situation.

Anyone with a major phobia shouldn’t be President. What happened to Trump is just a great example. Remember he talked about HCQ and Ivermectin, he was able to be embarrassed(?) by the experts and media. But he was spot on with wanting to use them. What happened behind closed doors we may never know, but phobia’s and pride are dangerous combinations.

“voluntary”?
LOL
So they redefined another “V” word?
The VACCINE is not a vaccine unless you look in a dictionary published after 2019.

Right.

IMO, the only thing President Trump or any other President could have done wrong regarding Covid, would have been to support the distancing, masking, lock down or vaccine mandates - and he never did. Not once.

And that’s pretty amazing when you consider the fact that he’s a germaphobe.

As for Operation Warp Speed, he did exactly what a President should do when top scientists are warning of a deadly pandemic: do what he can to cut red tape and find a vaccine as soon as possible. Any POTUS would be crazy not to do the same.

Obviously, that doesn’t mean cut corners and release experiment gene therapy before it’s safe and lie to the public about it. And it’s not President Trump’s fault Fauci and the rest turned out to be crooks and liars.

My take is the Event 201 response was a total failure. TPTB tossed out years of pandemic planning and decided to go with a bunch of moon battery solutions. We spent billions on pandemic planning and a few individuals get to throw it all out. WTF.
