Did you fancy that Attorney General Merrick Garland’s appointment of a special counsel to investigate Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents proved that Biden might be held accountable? Don’t buy it, says famed lawyer Alan Dershowitz.
“Everyone knows that President Biden will not be indicted for classified material showing up in various locations,” he writes. “First of all, a sitting president cannot constitutionally be indicted. The Justice Department recognizes that in its own rules and guidelines. Nor is this a case where others may be subject to indictment.”
However, Dershowitz argued that even if the investigation revealed Biden committed a criminal offense, it “would not rise to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors, which are the criteria for impeachment.”
This is probably true, but given the precedent set by the Democrats with their two partisan impeachments of President Trump, that seems immaterial. So why appoint a special counsel at all? Well, Dershowitz argues that Garland had to because he’d already done so with Trump.

Dershowitz expects that neither Trump nor Biden will ultimately face any charges.
“Even if one or both special prosecutors were to recommend indictment — an unlikely prospect — Attorney General Garland would not follow their advice,” he predicts. “Only, he knows that if only one of them were to be prosecuted, the divisions in this country would be greatly exacerbated. So the end result will be that neither is prosecuted.”

I suspect the ‘special prosecutor’ will be used to show the difference between Trump’s supposed crimes and joe’s innocent oversights.
One certain thing that comes from this: America accepts that the DOJ is a legitimate 4th branch of Federal Government.
Garland knew about Joey’s document issue before the Trump raid.
Thats why he raided Trump first to say…...
No…..this is to impede any gop house investigation (not that anything ever results from these). Answer to any question is: I cannot comment on an ongoing investigation
From the article:
“Power shifts back and forth in Washington fairly regularly, yet Democrats only seem to play by the assumption that they’ll always be in control.”
No, it’s their well placed faith that the gopes will squander every opportunity, accidentally or deliberately.
I would not put it past them to have raided Trump knowing that Slow Joe had exposure, and they knew it would inoculate him.
“Well Trump did it (which was already known AND even given storage recommendations) and HE WOULDNT COOPERATE (so they had to raid Melania’s underwear drawer”(God bless her)
That's his opinion.
When criminals appoint other criminals to investigate their criminal associates. No surprises here.
Merlin Garlic needs to go meet his new “boyfriends”...all 100 of them.
This type of reasoning used to make sense. There was a expectation that there were rational thinkers in the highest levels of government. But now, they have all become so twisted by partisanship that they don't really care of the fallout of their decisions.
The Democrats and the media have spent the last five or six years de-humanizing people who disagree with them to such a point that divisions among us are beyond repair.
Biden was not president when he stole the secret documents.
Arrest the traitor.
A lot of truth there I believe.
Meanwhile Biden has been using his personal attorneys to extricate the illegal, classified material. His attorneys are now sworn to silence by attorney-client privilege. Trump was given no such privilege. The FBI raided his private residence and extracted his legally-stored documents.
BINGO!
How lessons in above the law works room 101.
The test for this assumption is whether or not a person who did this could be elected to the presidency in the first place by a knowing public. If not, then they shouldn't continue to hold the office, either.
Hillary Clinton was an example of this premise.

They use “classification” and “on-going investigation” to avoid inconvenient questions.
When that fails, they appoint a “special counsel”. This “special counsel” was part of the cabal that suppressed the Nunes investigation/memo AND promoted Russia, Russia, Russia.
Friend and protege of Rosenstein, Mueller, Wray, etc. Direct participant in the biggest hoax in modern American history. How do you “investigate” when you were part of the crime?
I said it before and I will say it again - let the democrats deal with Biden (the knives are out) and focus on more pressing issues. Nothing will come of this other than lots of ink and lots of media noise. There is no case against Trump and there won’t be a case against Biden.
Biden will either resign or announce he will not run in 2024 and he will have “health issues” either way. He pardons Hunter when necessary and the media will say that a “sympathetic nation” will allow him peace in his final years.
He is toxic and his corruption was amateurish.
Go back and look at the 2020 election cycle. He was the only one on the stage that could beat Trump according to their own internal polling so despite his flaws they selected him. The people that made that decision are the ones running the country and the WH - not Biden who can’t stay on their script.
Biden believes he is that good and “he” won in 2020 on his own merit. Nobody could ever disavow him of that idea - it is central to his being. They surrounded him with their people (like Rice, Klain, etc) to control the agenda (and him), but he is now out of control so right on cue, using a tool of the IC, somebody dimed out the insurance policy to CBS News.
Those “people” are much more interesting than Biden, but they are now hidden behind a process they control.
This is their clown show so the last thing the Republicans should do with the little bit of power they have in DC is dress like them and start juggling.
This American Patriot doesn’t accept ANY three letter agency of this government as being legitimate.
