Remarks from Florida GOP Rep.-elect Matt Gaetz :
"You only earn the position of speaker of the House if you can get the votes. Mr. McCarthy doesn't have the votes today, he will not have the votes tomorrow, and he will not have the votes next week, next month, next year," Gaetz said as he nominated Ohio GOP Rep.-elect Jim Jordan to serve as the next speaker of the House.

So in the beginning Gaetz said it was a good thing debating because he would get compromises from McCarty.
BUT! Now that McCarthy has given him all he wanted, Gaetz now says NEVER NEVER NEVER!
He is becoming ridiculous. It’s only hate and personal now coming from Gaetz.
Gaetz is not at all fairplay, he acts like a spoiled teenaged brat !
McCarthy must be stopped. Period. No more corrupt Derp State RINOs !
Negotiations are ongoing. McCarthy hasn’t officially signed off on anything.
If he had stopped with “You only earn the position of speaker of the House if you can get the votes. Mr. McCarthy doesn’t have the votes today, he will not have the votes tomorrow, and he will not have the votes next week, next month, next year,” that would have been fine. But he did go a bit overboard and hung himself.
He was elected like the rest. He can vote the way his voters wish.
I know we aren’t going to get a Freedom Caucus member as Speaker.
But, out of 200+ Republican members of the House, surely there must be someone less distasteful to the base of the Party than McCarthy.
It is time to find a compromise. I’m thinking Scalise, but am open to other suggestions.
The deep state prefers limited command chain. They own the speakership. Bureaucrats are lazy if nothing else. Herding 436 cats is a lot harder than bribing one big cat.
The GOP just isn’t a serious political party. There are a thousand reasons to say that. They just aren’t.
Scalise here. Near death experiences tend to keep you honest and genuine.

That is a lie. He has given a signed document.
Another unhinged Gaetz rant, and then to top it off he votes for Jordan. The same Jordan who has publicly said he supports McCarthy. The same Jordan who has voted for McCarthy every single time.
Earning the votes goes for others besides McCarthy, too, though. That isn’t going real well.
List what Gaetz wanted and what he got or shut-up!

I would suggest the odds are about even between McTraitor becoming speaker and many of those who voted him in, later declaring Gaetze was right, and we should have taken his que and stuck with Gaetze.
