But, out of 200+ Republican members of the House, surely there must be someone less distasteful to the base of the Party than McCarthy.
It is time to find a compromise. I’m thinking Scalise, but am open to other suggestions.

Just as Gaetz indicated, McCarthy is the sugar daddy supreme of these House Republicans, and they’re addicted to his teats. Exact same for McConnell in the Senate.

The backdrop here the media doesn’t report is you have a huge segment of the country that has no representation because their Reps and party signed up with Joe Biden and his agenda to spend us into oblivion and tons of that money going to prop up Woke causes and Orgs that only exist to destroy traditional America, right down to our monetary system.
The impetus for the frustration is very important.
The thing is, there are no real proposed alternatives !

All that matters now is who get what plums and in what order and how deep hands will be dipped into the treasury.
I'm afraid the "base of the Party" is exactly what you are looking at when you see 200 McCarthy voters.
Hasn't it occurred to you by now that the elected Republicans ARE THE REAL REPUBLICANS, and that if you are still chasing the dream of turning the GOP into something it isn't and never will be, that it's YOU who is the "RINO"?
