Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) called a speech by Republican leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) ahead of the vote for next House speaker "bulls***" on Tuesday.
The word slipped out after McCarthy attempted to unite the party during a meeting of the House GOP conference, with Boebert muttering "this is bulls***" under her breath. A Boebert official said it was not yelled or spoken into a microphone, according to Fox News.
Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), who has vowed not to vote for McCarthy for speaker, said the whole meeting was tense and hostile.
"The meeting was very hostile, and I don’t think it did anything to persuade those who are inclined to vote against Kevin McCarthy," Good told Fox News.
Agree. BUT, McCarthy knew a long time ago that these members would not vote for him and therefore, he did not have the 218 votes. Throughout history, whenever this has happened the Speaker-Elect did the honorable thing and withdrew their name from the nomination process. McCarthy refused a month or so ago to do so and is doubling down now when he has less votes. This is on him too—he is not entitled to the Speakership and others felt that he was not the right person for the job. Nothing wrong with that. McCarthy refused to accept the truth.

The candidate for Speaker must get the majority of votes
of the entire House, not just of the candidate's
party. That majority is 218 votes from a total possible
435 votes. The Republicans have, I think, a House majority
of 222, while the Dems have 212. The Dem candidate can never
be elected Speaker without 6 Republicans voting for him. The problem is that McCarthy can't seem to get 218 Republicans to
vote for him even though they hold the majority in the House.
Either McCarthy caves to the conservative, MAGA House
Republicans who are voting against him or perhaps
he will make some slimy deal with some Democrats
to vote for him and then get the required 218.
Majority wins with a minimum of 218 votes.
We can now see the lack of cohesion that the GOP suffers. The RATs always know how to circle the wagons in agreement to destroy the country.
He has a path to win if the Republicans won't fall in line and it includes selling out to Democrats
That's the truth.
Democrats no doubt cannot believe their luck and they are laughing their asses off at us.

Confirming at that point that when if comes to choosing MAGA, the GOP would rather throw in with Democrats. It would be good to see that fact laid wide open.

Dems act and govern as if they won, when they lose. The GOP acts and governs as if they lost, when they win.
Congress critters think in terms of me, me, me and not what is best for the country. The attractiveness of Trump was that I was convinced that this man genuinely loved America. I don’t have that conviction when I observe Congress critters. They resemble European politicians who know that, if they make a mistake, their error will be corrected by $$$$ from Uncle Stooopid just like what is happening today in Ukraine.
Election to the Speaker post has to be an absolute majority of ALL members of the House. 218 is the magic number.

Majority wins. Majority = greater than half voting. If 400 vote, greater than 200 wins.
Sad, but true. If this does happen, however, the Republicans will never win in 2024 or ever, frankly.

Those NOT in her District do not understand the continual push by the CO dem party to make the historically RED District 3 yet another purple district on their march towards the complete californication takeover of Colorado.

Dems spent millions in her district to oust her and likely massively cheated. And before you start whining about no proof. You don’t know that do you? The government is in full blown communist information suppression on Hunter Laptop, COVID origins, Vaccines damage, FBI Abuse, CIA Abuse, Jan 6th, Domestic Terrorism (parents), Biden family corruption, Ukraine, etc... what makes you weren’t suppressing voter fraud information? Besides the suppression the media is their lapdogs.
We honestly have no idea what to believe. One thing I do know is McCarthy has turned a blind eye to all of the above. Boebert has not.
