A definite possibility...McCarthy is their best bet...I wouldn't be surprised if there are Rat/Rino coalition talks going on as we post.

Oh, to be a Russian nanobot on the wall in take your choice of the happening watering holes in DC...
One maintains one’s position that Kevin has more to gain by just getting real and admitting that it’s just time to let go. It happens to all of us, sometime.

McCarthy needs to flip 15 of the 19 republicans by tomorrow, or convince 25 democrats to stay home. Is McCarthy going to out himself as a RINO democrat? Or is he going to give the 19 what they want. Exciting times :-)

Yes, a nice cushy K Street job with a bigger salary than he has now, although the benefits won't be as good. His buddy at FAUX News could hire him to at a nice salary as a fake conservative.

Or a combination of the the two. I expect that public opinion will weigh in against McCarthy though. The longer this drags out, the better for MAGA.

Any Democrat who does anything to effect Kevin McCarthy being elected speaker will be correctly branded either a Racist, or a Sellout, FOR LIFE.

Exactly. Not unlike that white woke leftist biker that got attacked by a feral black and wasn’t sure what the motive was.

Someone asked Bo today, “ What would Rush say... “?
Paraphrase, I have no idea, that’s why Rush was Rush.

As an added bonus, I guess we know how bad it is when even Sean Hannity is saying they look like idiots The fact that McCarthy didn't have the votes going into this, and yet still won't bow out; just goes to show that it isn't about a desire to do the right thing (bow out), but somehow retain a position of power.
The fact that more Republicans aren't defecting to a different candidate also shows how dysfunctional, incompetent and fragmented the Republican party is. If this exhibition helps to further highlight RINO behavior...so be it.

This is the first time I’ve watched this process, but it seems to be looking embarrassing for McCarthy...maybe he had too much hubris and not enough sense.

Term limits is a stupid distraction that will never happen. Besides, do we really want the Washington establishment that staff these offices to run things—them career and lifetime vs. a temporary, term-limited member? What a stupid idea.

“ What would Rush say... “? First, Rush would say to not let the left set the narrative. The narrative right now is that this is proof that Republicans can't lead.
Rush might follow that with a recounting of all the times that Republican leaders made promises to their base and then stabbed them in the back once elected. He might then say "Let's give these new guys and gals the chance to figure things out for themselves instead of letting the establishment roll over them."
Finally, he might say that "I doesn't care if it takes five or 10 rounds or more to get it right, just don't let the drive-by media pressure you into thinking you have to get it done in one day. This is too important to begin the new Republican majority by immediately caving to liberal pressure before you're even sworn into office."
