This week, Fox News host Tucker Carlson had a critique of the January 6 report: there was no mention of the supposed federal provocateur that the right held responsible for the whole event!
Carlson was referring to Ray Epps, a former Oath Keeper who was caught on video on Jan. 5 urging the MAGA faithful to march on the Capitol, before wisely choosing not to enter on Jan. 6 itself.
Epps has become the center of a right-wing conspiracy theory which casts him as Exhibit #1 supporting the idea that Jan. 6 was a “fedsurrection,” as some call it — a government-instigated attempt at discrediting the Trump movement.......
Now, thanks to the latest batch of transcripts from the January 6 Committee, we know.
The panel on Thursday released a transcript of its interview with Epps, alongside many other as-yet-unreleased key interviews, including testimony from Donald Trump Jr., White House advisor Stephen Miller and two Georgia election workers targeted by a Rudy Giuliani-boosted smear campaign. Epps was unique among the bunch, however, in that right-wingers have accused him for more than a year of being a federal agent inserted into the riot to instigate violence. Or, as Carlson put it, “if it’s not some sort of op, okay, then what is it?”
When asked repeatedly during his interview with the committee about whether he had ever worked with the FBI or whether any of his activities at the Capitol occurred at the direction or consultation of federal law enforcement, the transcript shows Epps continually said “no, sir.”
The panel also asked Epps if he was affiliated with any of the following agencies: the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, and D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department. He answered no to them all.

They have the following working in concert: DNC, individual democrat politicians, the leftist deep state which includes the likes of the FBI, CIA and DHS, the mainstream media, social media/big tech, and operatives that are paid using various organizations. A combination of these, if not all, for everyone of their major attacks on conservatives and the American people.

Jan 6 isn’t over.
Ray Epps isn’t out of the woods..
Because the FBI isn’t out of the woods..
But he's not? So how is that?
Bring him in front of the Republican house next year to testify then. What’s the problem?
They are playing games. They want you to remember Epps yelling about going in the Capitol when it was dark the night before.. then they want you to believe he thought better of it.. They are hoping you don’t remember him that day, whispering in the ear of one young man who then removes a barricade... that’s not the only video of him encouraging people to go into the Capitol.. ON THAT DAY.
No other poor soul has had his kinda luck, so I'm going with the stink of Beltway Soup all over Mr.Epps.
Only President Trump can fix this.
In a rational, sane, and fair election world, i would agree. But i expect that we are beyond that point.

Yeah, if there had been an actual republican on the committee he/she would have then asked, “If you’re not a Federal Agent or acting on behalf of a Federal Agency, based on your actions on 1/5 and 1/6, to what do you attribute your not being in prison?
Transcript? Like a transcript can't be doctored, comments and questions deleted, things deliberately left out...basically an edited version. I take it the guy wasn't under oath for his interview. So why a transcript, and not a video of the behind-closed-door, super-secret "interview"? Probably because we'd see Epps reading off a prepared statement, written by his handlers at the FBI. I hadn't known that this guy was a "former" Oath-Keeper. All the more willing to be an asset to the FBI. Probably only joined the Oath-Keepers to snitch on them all. Put this guy on a lie detecter, then interview him.
How can say BS with out saying BS? Epps told people to go into the Capital building. What did he think would happen? Epps encouraged people to breach barricades. What did he think would happen?

It’s 97 pages and not searchable (interesting), and it’s not the only interview conducted w/ Epps (another one was in Nov 2021). Here’s the part that the press is screeching about — and it’s weaselly as hell, and with a clearly prepared witness. Note how the question is constrained to “Jan 5”:

Q Any other law enforcement officials, other than the other folks you mentioned earlier, you might have interacted with at the plaza as you were deescalating?
No, sir.
Whatever the point about December 27th through January 4th, and on Jan 6 itself, it’s the same thing — just to clarify that he didn’t have any direct conversations w/ feds during those times. Why not just a blanket question? Well, that’d elicit an undesired answer.
Calling BS on this one. Total CYA.
