One of the big mistakes that gays (as in men) and lesbians (as in women) made was to embrace the so-called transgender movement. Gays and lesbians are about same-sex attraction, a psycho-emotional pull that has been around since time immemorial. By contrast, the so-called transgender movement essentially says that lesbians are actually men, while gays are really women. That is, they’re not same-sex attracted; they’re attracted to the opposite sex with the misfortune of inhabiting the wrong body.
Forty years ago, I knew of one man who fully understood this dynamic. I hadn’t met him, but I knew his daughter. She was not close to her parents, so she saw her father infrequently. However, a few months after her mother died, she was in town and decided to surprise him with a visit.
From the beginning, things were a bit strange. On the little paper label next to the buzzer for her parents’ apartment, it no longer said, “The Does.” That wasn’t unexpected given that her father was now a widower. What surprised her was that the label didn’t say “John Doe.” Instead, it said “Jane Doe.
The really big surprise was when her father opened the door wearing full makeup, a dress, and heels. He explained that he’d always known that he was a woman trapped in a man’s body. Out of respect for his wife, though, he kept this fact a secret. Now that he was widowed, however, he could be his true self. In fact, he explained, he was on the list for a “sex change” operation.

A homosexual will tell you that they were born that way. God made them homosexual, apparently. They cannot be changed. It would be offensive to suggest that some medical professional might “fix” them to make them the way they “should be”. No counseling, thanks: they’re fine.
A transgender will tell you that they were born the wrong sex. God made a mistake, apparently. They would like to change. It would be hateful to deny them access to medical professionals who can fix them and make them the way they should be. Surgery please, and lots of medicine: you owe them that.
Yeah, there is a fundamental disconnect there, and the basic “It’s not a choice” philosophy that homosexuals have pushed for 50+ years is under threat.

The cognitive dissonance is worse than you might think - when lesbians found themselves labeled bigots for not wanting to date trans - i.e. fake - women, they also discovered that they’d suddenly become conservatives in the eyes of progressive ideology. That’s got to hurt.
Our society is being driven by homosexual, women hating men who want to become women.
I am a man and like women nor do I dress in women’s attire. Thus, by their definition I am a lesbian.

Might as well eliminate the (B)isexuals, too. Bisexuals assume two gender, and well, we can't have that in the trans/queer community!

That's true. Come to think of it, (Q)ueer, meaning strange, and (Gay), meaning happy, seem like very judgemental labels too and should be excluded to make the T+ movement more inclusive.
After all, what about all of those sexual perverts who aren't happy and strange.
