Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Senate lawmakers failed to pass a $1.7 trillion omnibus spending package as negotiations stalled late Wednesday over a GOP amendment to maintain a Trump-era border policy that has barred entry to millions of migrants and asylum seekers amid the pandemic.

A few million in there for Ukraine oughta help it pass.
Yay — Merry Christmas!
We’ll see how many of Mitch’s Butt Buddies can stay strong and not vote for Cloture.
Give it time, they’ll cave.
It ain’t over yet I’m afraid.....that barrel of snakes never gives up
Honestly I’m shocked it didn’t fly through last nite. SMH

They will just use their secret weapons:
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$....................
A few million? Unnoticeable chump change. Winston Zelensky was in town to pick up the $45 Billion down payment on 2023’s hundreds of billions to pi$$ed away. A few million, that wouldn’t even generate a laundry tag for the DC/Uke oligarchs.
$1.70 Trillion
$1,700 BILLION
$1,700,000 MILLION
$1,700,000,000,000 DOLLARS...............................
People are calling & complaining, which is a good thing. We ran into an issue with a certain staff member in Crapo’s office who would answer the phone, then say ‘hello, hello? I can’t hear you.’ And then he hung up. Jerk. But at least we know they’re getting the message. A lot of them.
I say we put the illegals on freight trains and transport them up to every Sanctuary city and liberal media headquarters. Drop em off at the airports, bus stations Starbucks as well as the sidewalks on the high end shopping meccas producing a high visibility to the “chosen”. I would love to see AOC reaction to multiple tents set up outside her D. C.. Digs

Apparently SOMEBODY on the right still has a backbone.
Give it time, they’ll cave.

They’re holding out for their own pork gifts. They’ll be bought off one by one with nowhere bridges and the like
“We have a difference of opinion on immigration police,” Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., told reporters Wednesday night. “We’re not going to solve that in this budget.”
To God’s ears!
GOOD!
Keep in mind the vast majority of the government is automatically funded. They learned that lesson after the Bush 1 shutdown. These days the only part of the government that might (might) actually shutdown are the ones that make good commercials when they blame the other side. So if they don’t pass the omnibus, which they probably will, really nothing happens. They don’t want to actually shut down the government, we might realize how useless it is. So these are all show, no blow.
