People are calling & complaining, which is a good thing. We ran into an issue with a certain staff member in Crapo’s office who would answer the phone, then say ‘hello, hello? I can’t hear you.’ And then he hung up. Jerk. But at least we know they’re getting the message. A lot of them.

Keep in mind the vast majority of the government is automatically funded. They learned that lesson after the Bush 1 shutdown. These days the only part of the government that might (might) actually shutdown are the ones that make good commercials when they blame the other side. So if they don’t pass the omnibus, which they probably will, really nothing happens. They don’t want to actually shut down the government, we might realize how useless it is. So these are all show, no blow.

I just informed both of my Arkansas turncoat senators that if they vote for this, I’ll do everything in my power to ensure they get primaried out of office.
