Much of the United States will either get a White Christmas or a bitterly cold one, as the forecasts for the country see snowstorms and temperatures in the deep south as low as the 20s.
Forecasters are warning of treacherous holiday travel and life-threatening cold for much of the nation as an arctic air mass blows into the already-frigid southern United States, with experts predicting the 'coldest Christmas in years.'
The coming week has the potential for 'the coldest air of the season' as the strong arctic front marches across the eastern two-thirds of the country in the days before Christmas, according to the latest forecasts from the federal Weather Prediction Center.

Anything past -10 is beyond my comfort zone. I try not to go out when it gets that cold. But I would only if I had to.
Warm Christmases are the norm, but we have had freezing ones before. 1989 IIRC, was one when I-10 was shut down due to ice on the bridges and we couldn’t go home to Hilliard, north of Jacksonville, for christmas..............

Global warming cause cold. Also, high mortgage interest rates.
This year we are forecast to have 6 for the high, and -4 the low on Christmas Eve, and very windy, so that will make it feel even colder. This Florida girl isn’t looking forward to that, but if I have my kids home, I’ll be happy to deal with it.

We are just outside the Eglin USAF Base, where the do Climatic testing of aircraft, ALL aircraft, in a huge hanger called the McKinley Lab.

They can create temps all the way down to -100°F for real life testing.

No worries, warm up, dare I say Indian Summer, coming after Jan 1st before the next cold blast. We live in extreme NE Florida, Kings Bay in sight from here, and don't expect temps much below 28 so have our plant coverings ready to go for Christmas Eve.

I can’t imagine the giant cloud of steam that will form when billions of tons of snow is flash vaporized to steam upon striking the sea of molten slag that is the earths surface destroyed by global warming
All my barn plumbing froze during the snowmagedan! I replaced it with PEX pipe and fittings. I plan to leave a faucet running on the far side of the barn so it doesn’t freeze up. Central Texas, Thursday night forecast calling for 10F.
