Former President Donald Trump addressed an audience gathered at his Mar-a-Lago club and estate in Palm Beach, Fla., Thursday night for the Log Cabin Republicans’ Spirit of Lincoln gala, the conservative LGBTQ group’s flagship event.
“We are fighting for the gay community, and we are fighting and fighting hard,” Trump said.
“Last night, we had over 450 LGBT conservatives and our straight allies join us for another amazing Spirit of Lincoln gala,” Log Cabin Republicans President Charles Moran told the Washington Blade.
“While the speakers and award honorees spanned the conservative spectrum, all of them, including President Trump, articulated a deep appreciation for our community and committed to our broader inclusion and support for gay rights,” Moran said, adding, “This is the bar we’ll be holding all GOP candidates to in 2023 and 2024.”
Last year, the Log Cabin Republicans honored Melania Trump with its Spirit of Lincoln award, citing her work combatting bullying in her role as first lady.
However, the group’s support of the former president, his family and his administration has not come without controversy — even among members of its own leadership, prompting Jerri Ann Henry to resign from her position as executive director in 2019.

George Washington
Abraham Lincoln
Ronald Reagan
All 3 were greater presidents than Trump, who was an excellent president
Yes. George Washington was practically super-human. Definitely placed there by God. Nobody better, ever.
I never lose sight of Jesus.
Jesus does not appear to be weighing in on the future of the USA, however. Or on stopping election fraud. Or on MAGA.
Our Lord left those fields for us to till. Free will and all that quaint stuff.
Agreed
God also placed the other 2, Lincoln and Reagan, in the right place at precisely the right time.
This is a deal breaker for me. He just lost my support. He can have their support. They have lots of money. He sold out.
Do you took a count to verify that MOST comment?
Sounds more like a mere financial conservative, which is not MAGA, nor is castigating older Trump voters as myself for condemning him for essentially saluting the flag of Sodom - then or now! It is actually ignorant and irrational to equate expressing the latter with being anti MAGA, and which necessarily means they would not vote for Trump. Those such as me who voted for Trump would do so versus any liberal candidate, as his policies overall were the most conservative of any president of at least recent history, and I have posted lists of Trump's accomplishments.
However that is no way means his support of the anti-Christ and anti-America homosexual movement was (since it is not new) is at all justified. Doing so essentially means opposing God Himself in a most fundamental manner. And you cannot have a great yet capitalist nation with a small government without a strong moral and family culture, which mainly Christianity fostered in times past. And even if $ is all that matters to you, then see post 100 above.
Moreover, your vile swipe of the aged conservative is both arrogant as well as absurd, for the fact is that that aged class of Americans are the most conservative. And even now,
More than half of Republican and GOP-leaning voters (56%) aged 50 and older in 2020, up from 39% in 1996.
National Exit Polls: How Different Groups Votedhttps://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/11/03/us/elections/exit-polls-president.html
So it is older and moral conservatives which you attack that were actually the strongest supports of Trump yet whom he seems to take for granted while appealing to 7% of voters.
And you wonder what your arrogance sees kickback?
Rather than not weighing it, Scripture, by precept and principle, applies to all:
on the future of the USA,
The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. (Psalms 9:17)
on stopping election fraud
Divers weights are an abomination unto the Lord; and a false balance is not good. (Proverbs 20:23)
Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. (Acts 6:3)
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. (Psalms 24:4-5)
He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight. (Psalms 101:7)
Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: (Isaiah 30:10)
on MAGA
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. (Psalms 33:12)
Thank you for that excellent post. It is the nature of our modern government for people to demand liberty, free choice and all that, while at the same time demanding that everyone else pay for their bad life choices.
More importantly, how can someone be brought to repentance if their sins are merely affirmed by society? We cannot both have gay marriage and religious liberty in our public institutions. What government makes legal receives government’s endorsement and support.
Then I guess you’d rather the Democrats win. The gays aren’t going anywhere so what do we do in order to win back the Whitehouse and the Senate? Like I said in my last post...do I agree with and celebrate homosexuality? NO. But I believe in God and that God forgives and loves us all, but hates the sin.
If you recall, Richard Grennel (Grenell?), the Ambassador to Germany, and also something to do with the CIA, perhaps, is an announced gay. He was the highest profile, but my memory says there were others, but I just can’t recall their names.
Trump has always been a log cabin supporter.
There is no republican or democrat who is not. Every newscaster I know is.
Very few pastors speak out against the gay lifestyle. The most outspoken with a public microphone is probably John MacArthur.
Our being gathered to Jesus (rapture, I believe) will not happen until there comes a falling away first, and then the man of sin is revealed who sits in the Temple of God showing himself that he is god. (2 Thess 2)
The Trump playing cards, btw, are dumb.
According to the Bible, they are going to Hell.
Yes, "how can someone be brought to repentance if their sins are merely affirmed by society" and not reproved by the body of Christ, yet the latter is where judgment must first begin.
What a nonsensical conclusion.
No I’d like patriots to stand up and lead rather than kowtow to a bunch of degenerate perverts.
