Judge Peter Thompson ordered Kari Lake and Defendants Katie Hobbs, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, and Elections Directors to appear in court in Kari Lake’s election contest lawsuit against them.

Went to the court’s streaming site. It took over 30 minutes to actually get a connection. The audio was very spotty, with long pauses for buffering (may have been my connection). The participants participated by streaming. Katie Hobbs was not shown as participating during the hour I was on the site. I gave up at that point.

Kabuki dance. They are just going through the motions to alleviate the anger people are feeling over a stolen election.

I predict the court will do nothing to fix anything.

They do not care about court cases even if it ends up in an admonishment of the abusers.

They’ll simply say..”Oh OK we will do better next time.”

They got the power and that is all they care about. No matter how they get it.

I wish I could be more confident, but in our current era, the judicial branch is every bit as corrupt as the other two. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think the judge will accept this hot potato.

I’m with you as far as being a cynic goes. But I feel better than his being an ‘Obama’ Judge from Harvard. (yes I know this is state level, but I think you know what I mean.

Audio of it can be found here. Total file is about 75 minutes, but it doesn't actually start until nearly 40 minutes in, for reasons the judge explains at his beginning. Not perfect audio, but it sounded fairly complete to this non-lawyer. Defense was claiming their forthcoming motions to dismiss would be approved and make it all go away and then, failing that trying to set as short a time for Lake to present her evidence as possible. Judge gave more time than Hobbs et al had wanted. Judge sounded to me like he was trying to be fair and reasonable, that he recognized the importance of the case and that statutory timing issues were involved. But what do I know. If the case isn't dismissed and they can actually present evidence—what a novelty—hope lives. At least we'll know fairly soon. Regardless there will likely be additional legal rounds. IIRC the AZ precedent case, in which a Gov election was overturned a century ago, took most of a year to play out and BOTH candidates spent time in the office over the subsequent decade.

Basically the Secretary of State is in charge of all of the above. That would be Katie Hobbs who was also running against Kari Lake for governor. Hobbs made sure them people were trained real good. Banana Republic of AZ.
