A corps of researchers looking into the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy say they have unearthed proof his alleged assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, was involved in an operation by the CIA mere months before the killing, reigniting questions about whether the Oswald truly was alone in his decision to kill the youngest man ever elected president.
In a Tuesday press conference at the National Press Club, Jefferson Morley—a veteran of the D.C. press corps and a preeminent expert on JFK's assassination with the Mary Ferrell Foundation—told reporters that he and attorneys with the foundation obtained documentation relating to a still-classified covert operation approved by senior CIA officials three months before Kennedy's death that suggested the agency used Oswald for intelligence purposes several weeks prior to shooting.
"This is an extraordinarily serious claim, and it has profound implications for the official story," Morley said Tuesday morning in Washington. "The CIA knew far more about the lone gunman than then they are admitting even today. So this story deserves the closest possible scrutiny."
The document, one of several researchers obtained this month as the result of an October lawsuit, is a precursor to a fuller release of documents anticipated by the National Archives this month.
The mandated release of records dates to a 2021 memo by President Joe Biden's administration ordering the release of all documents related to the JFK assassination after several delays by agencies like the CIA and FBI. Attorneys for the Mary Ferrell Foundation argued that the agencies have illegally stalled the release of more than 16,000 additional documents related to the case over concerns they could potentially compromise the names of individuals and the methods used in intelligence-gathering activities more than a half-century ago.
Newsweek reached out to the CIA for comment.

That is the main thing that makes me skeptical that Oswald was the only shooter.
There only two ways Kennedy's head and shoulders could be thrown back in such a powerful way:
1) A force from a shot fired from the front.
2) His own muscles flung him back in reaction to a bullet that enters his brain from the rear. You can kind of test this theory: Sit in a chair and lean forward the way Kennedy was after the first bullet entered his throat, then jerk yourself backwards as hard as you can and see it you think you can jerk back as violently as Kennedy's head/shoulders jerk back in the film. I've tried it, and I can't seem to jerk my head back anywhere near as violently as Kennedy's head was flung back. Try it for yourself.
LBJ and J. Edgar Hoover.
The VERY interesting book depository museum told me what I believe now. I was standing close to the famous window when some older men started whispering. They knew Guns, kind of shook their heads and said ‘no way’. Plus I listen to Coast to Coast and just don’t buy the loan nut crap. BTW....where WAS Geo HW Bush that day?????
The third shot was in the 68 to 72 yard range.
A. The presidential route was published in newspapers. When Oswald set up his sniper’s nest, he knew how far his best shot was going to be.
B. Everybody overestimates their own abilities. It doesn’t seem like something that would stop Oswald.
C. The actual shot was close and doable by a poor shooter.
I have seen the Zapruder film enhanced and the mist of blood goes forward.
Oswald was a sharpshooter at 200 yards with an open sight. The third shot was about 70 yards with a scope.
It is the 6th floor, hence the name, “The Sixth Floor Museum.”
If you are interested in a wild conspiracy theory about this, read the book Dr. Mary’s Monkey. It is incredible, weird, jaw dropping. It involves so many things ... Like viruses, New Orleans mob, CIA......
The target (Kennedy) was travelling slightly down hill and away from Oswald. It is a pretty easy, flat shot.
Not feasible. For that to happen the CIA agent would have to stand, lift the gun up into open view, and fire right over the head of the driver and the other CIA agent in the passenger seat. It would have blown their ear drums out.
Yes way. It was not a difficult shot. GHW Bush was in Tyler, Texas, about a hundred miles away. Did you know Nixon was in Dallas that Morning but left before noon.
I don’t know.
I always thought it was an expert, super hard shot but when I stood in the window and looked at the X in the road, I said, “anybody could have done that.”
Fifty-nine years to scrub/fix/fabricate the documents, probably a record.
But, in all fairness, back then they didn’t have the computer capabilities we have now . . .
Bush crime family is still plenty active and influential even with the Don, GHWB, pushing daisies. The CIA was a rogue org acting on behalf of and controlled by MIC from the moment it was formed.
Eisenhower and Kennedy both told the American people straight up what was going on. We’ve all seen the clips.
Less than 100 yards, but the two bullets that struck JFK came from the front of the vehicle. One through the throat and the killing round through the forehead and exiting the rear of the skull.
“Back, and to the right”.
That’s EXACTLY what happened. After Oswald fired off his two or three rounds, the Secret Service agent raised his AR-15 in response JUST AS HIS VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD to follow the Kennedy vehicle. His trigger finger pulled back as his car leaped forward in panic, and BLAM! I believe this was a million-to-one odds accident but entirely plausible given the intensity of the last head shot.
That's preposterous on its face. You have a link?

i have heard that as well.. the SS stood up when he heard the shots the cars accelerated and the gun went off..
