The grieving boyfriend of Madison Mogen, one of four murdered University of Idaho students, broke his weeks-long silence about the monstrous killings during a heartbreaking memorial in the town where one victim grew up.
“None of these people deserved this,” Jake Schriger said at the Friday vigil in Post Falls, hometown of slain student Xana Kernodle, 20.
Schriger — who knew all four victims — recounted his first date with Mogen, 21, at The Breakfast Club in Moscow, and how that friendship blossomed into romance.
“She was the first person I talked to every morning and the last person I talked to before bed,” Schriger said at the vigil at the Real Life Ministries. “She was the person that I loved most.”
Mogen’s close friend Kaylee Goncalves, 21, and Kernodle’s boyfriend Ethan Chapin, 20, were also killed in the off-campus home in Moscow on Nov. 13.

Hope they are checking in Pullman. WSU campus. Very close by.
He was a boyfriend - doesn’t mean he’s articulate.
My daughter has been following this. She said the house was a bit of a party house and had an electronic number pad for the lock. Who knows how many people had that number!?
"Sleept" may be a kind way of saying "passed out from partying."
I'm so tired of that cliche.
Your racism argument is weak and does not make any sense. You sound like you made a wrong turn over at DU.

You should phone in this tip to the police/FBI. Who knows, they may crack the case based on it.
Sure, but boneheads right here want to put him in prison because he said something they don’t like.
Never mind, video, cell records, door code records, and eye witnesses have him elsewhere.
That’s the issue.
Gotcha. To me the concern is utilizing everything at their disposal in the investigation. I’m sure a public statement by police announcing his not being a suspect does not stop them from using him as a witness or suspect. Police can and do say what best brings additional evidence to them. Being or not being a suspect doesn’t preclude additional suspicions.
Ironic but many years ago I moved in with 3 girls who rented a one bedroom apartment and there were two beds in one bedroom and sometimes 5-6 girls in the apartment so of course, we slept together and anywhere else available - couch, floor. I had just moved to CA and they were all from Moscow, ID - came to CA to work and attend UCLA. I met one girl at work and they needed a roommate to replace one who had gone back to Moscow. I came from the east coast and the only Moscow I’d heard of wasn’t in our country! It worked out great. Total strangers and we got along like life long friends and we were only in our early 20’s. Shared rent, groceries, meal prep with never a hitch. I was one lucky person to meet them.
Better times - 1950’s.
You have two daughters who came from two different families?
“”I have two beautiful daughters only 13 months apart and have 25 years worth (thousands) of photos like that. Like every time they got dressed up!
One girl came from a large intact family and the other from a sadly dysfunctional one who spent most of her life in her friend’s home.””
William Garretson slept through the Tate murders.
Surprise! I did not give birth to all of my children.
The one girl was mentioned in the other girls obit as her sixth sibling, that’s how close they were from kindergarten.
“”It’s the most often stated sentiment in time of grief and it is obviously true.””
I think it’s said every time a murder is reported on the news...Can’t believe it seems strange for someone to hear it here. Does the poster never watch TV news?
“”William Garretson slept through the Tate murders.””
That’s true - he was in another dwelling on the property. One of the victims was stabbed on the lawn and she had to be screaming for her life and he still didn’t hear anything. He was the first suspect in the slayings.
Ther comment could be taken by some as meaning there were thingsd in their lives which some few would deem worthy of death. Let’s hope the boy just misspoke.
