Pence pushes back on Trump’s call to terminate the Constitution

Former Vice President Mike Pence on Monday pushed back on former President Trump’s assertion that the Constitution should be disregarded to allow for him to return to the White House in the wake of new revelations about Twitter’s handling of a controversial story about Hunter Biden.

“I must tell you that I think that everyone that serves in public office, everyone that aspires to serve or serve again should make it clear that we will support and defend the Constitution of the United States,” Pence said on WVOC radio in Columbia, S.C., ahead of a visit to the state on Tuesday.

The former vice president, who has said he is contemplating a 2024 presidential bid, noted that every federal official takes an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.

Pence added that he believes he upheld his oath to defend the Constitution throughout his four years as Trump’s vice president, particularly in the final weeks of his term as Trump pressured him to reject the 2020 election results.

Trump said: “Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,””

Sorry guys but it doesn’t work that way. Please quote the part of the Constitution that authrorizes such actions.

So, with the revelation of MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION in working closely with Big Tech Companies, the DNC, & the Democrat Party, do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great “Founders” did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!

I have supported Trump. Proof was in the pudding... promises made and kept. I still do...but.....

In this, he has jumped the shark, I am afraid.

Our electoral system assumes that from the precinct level to congress watchful eyes would prevent subversion of the process. We ask counties and states and congress to make certain the process... not the validity of the vote.

There is no process to MAKE IT RIGHT after the fact... no matter the evidence.

Perhaps that needs to change... but then we really will risk looking like our 3rd world neighbors.

Evidence was gathered. The courts never allowed the evidence to be heard.

Not much, actually. Trump never even made the accusation of “fraud” in a court of law. He made arguments about procedure, and requested delays in the process. The biggest lawsuit was actually being driven by Texas under an equal protection claim, not actual fraud. Regarding claims of fraud, Trump was told he would have to gather specific evidence and wait until after the election, in order to demonstrate damages, which is similar to what Lake is going through now in Arizona. But after the certification of the 2020 election Trump didn’t do anything I’m aware of, other than fundraise on the promise he would do something. I assumed that it would be more than tweet.

You are wrong.

The only thing the Constitution says about appointing Presidents is that the State Legislatures appoint Electors, who then vote in the only Presidential election that exists under the Constitution.

The appointed Electors did exactly that, on December 14, 2020. No state legislature, not Wisconsin, not Michigan, not Pennsylvania, Georgia, or Arizona disputed these appointments, which they had every right to do.

The election result was Biden 306, Trump 232, and Biden is the President while Trump is not.

Right now what I am going to do is support Trump in every way and hope he can overcome the “margin of fraud” in the next election.

Remember when Trump wanted some state legislatures to appoint Electors that would vote for him rather than according to the popular vote count?

And I would argue that the Legislatures of Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona could have done exactly that - but they didn't. They didn't even convene to discuss it.

The courts never allowed the evidence to be heard

The appointment of the President is a reserved power of the 50 State Legislatures (+3 votes Congress gave itself in 1960). Courts have nothing to do with it, nor should they.

That’s the bottom line. Pence is totally devoid of any ideas, substance or convictions.

Let’s cut to the chase: Do you think we have free and fair elections in this country?

I agree. Yes, they could have. But did not.

You are far more learned than I in these matters. I can see no Constitutional process or mechanism of reversing or redoing an election once the Electors have voted and winner president inaugurated. Do you know of any?

I do not think the 2020 election was free and fair, and have said so many times.

But that matters not. Once the Electors have cast their votes, and they have been counted and recorded, and the winner inaugurated, there is no Constitutional remedy.

That is a fair and accurate description of where we legally now stand with regard to the 2020 election. Barring an unprecedented attempted interruption by the USSC, which is completely unimaginable as we sit here now after the 2022 midterms, there is basically no chance that legal outcome will be changed.

Only revolution remains, and Trump’s flirtation with the idea is dangerous. It could be he’s starting to realize his chance to be elected in 2024 is dwindling fast, so a rehash of 2020 is his last and only hope. I was more than ready to dig into the 2020 election, in 2021, but he chose to go AWOL for basically a whole year. Now it’s basically already 2023, and talk of re-doing 2020 sounds pretty ridiculous. He should have made that his priority 2 years ago, right after the election results were certified, as many lawyers advised.

Pence is RINO POS traitor. He’s an idiot as well. He could have actually read the source text of Trump’s posts on Truth.
