In the Cold War we made mistakes, but undoubtedly we’re the good guys.
We represented freedom (in religion, speech, property rights) democracy, transparency and human rights.
Today what do we represent?
-A war in the Ukraine where it is not possible to articulate a single national security interest where we are acting in defense.
-LGBTQIA
-A government where everything gets a secret stamp on it and we are even going back reclassifying what was publicly available for years.
-The greatest invasion of privacy on a global scale and even teaching/showing others how to do it.
-Suppression of free speech, religion, and globalization.
-We have friends like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, allies like Turkey and our biggest trading partner where we let NOTHING (not even tanks driving over pro democracy protestors) interfere, is the PRC.
Post Cold War things changed. We are no longer the good guys despite what why try to tell ourselves. Today we support mandates on vaccines, pay for abortions abroad and put homosexual ambassadors in Eastern Orthodox nations. The era where we were defined by Norman Rockwell is over.
