Guest-hosting Fox News Sunday, Jennifer Griffin suggested to Jonathan Swan that Donald Trump's dinner with Nick Fuentes had triggered something of a wave of criticism of the former president among prominent Republicans.
Swan dissented from Griffin's take:
"There actually haven't been that many prominent Republicans who have come out against Trump . . . Which tells me there is still a fear among Republicans, even ones who want to oppose him potentially in 2024, that Trump still commands a serious, meaningful proportion of the base, and they don't want to cross him yet."

I don’t see the problem with Trump meeting with a member of the base. Fuentes will certainly not vote for Biden or any Democrat. Hopefully, he doesn’t get deported back to where he came from.

Politics is such a minefield. You never know how things will be perceived. Over in the UK Matt Hancock decided to go on a Celebrity show while Still an MP. He is the guy who had an affair and broke the rules as some kind of Health Minister.
At first people were outraged but he has actually won people over by his appearance on the show. Meanwhile, a guy married to Princess Anne daughter is getting called a bully.
I will be shocked if Matt wins tonight but it is possible.
This seems like an obvious point that he made. Trump has not been criticized by too many elected Republicans. Why are you upset at Swan for saying something correct?

It was a dinner with Kanye, not Nick. If a dad has dinner with his son and the son brings a friend--it isn't: Dad had dinner with friend.
Foolin' around with Kanye isn't the best publicity for Trump. I believe this is another situation that shows a genuinely good person behind all of Trump's bluster and swagger.
The world is after Kanye for Kanye acting out as he often does--it's who he is (Taylor Swift incident). Kanye has no family, the Kardashians ate him up and spit him out--he's alone, has lost most everything because he's mentally ill, as I understand it.
Trump didn't kick Kanye aside and still chose to sit to dinner and offer advice to a man that's down, lacking family and is now short on fair weather friends. Trump has nothing to be ashamed of. I will never bash Trump for this.
LOL! And I still don't know who this Fuentes guy is. I've skimmed some of the many (very many) posts wringing their hands about President Trump meeting with this fellow, but the depth of the criticism seems to be 'Fuentes is a White Nationalist'...

I suppose I could search on Fuentes, if I cared - but I don't. I'm just irritated by the non-stop grasping for any club to beat on President Trump. We have a gazillion real problems with the endemic voter theft system (in our Country, Brazil, and who know where else), and the Communist and Satanic takeover of our Nation. But 'stop the presses' - President Trump met with a 'bad' guy.

Trump didn’t invite Fuentes. He invited Kanye, at Kanye’s request, and Fuentes was an uninvited tag-along.
I had never heard of him, and still don’t really know who he is. I doubt seriously if Trump knew who he was either.
It was a West dinner. Trump did not sit down to a Fuentes dinner. Or a Milo dinner.
It appears to me that Kanye is being used by the forever shit disturbing Milo. He inserts himself anywhere and everywhere to stay relevant.
