President Trump took failed Republican Colorado Senate nominee Joe O’Dea to task on Monday in a blistering statement, lambasting candidates who shifted their policy priorities after winning their primaries and dumping the MAGA agenda.
“Joe O’Dea lost his race in Colorado by over 12 points because he campaigned against MAGA,” Trump wrote in an official statement. “Likewise, candidates who shifted their ‘messaging’ after winning big in the Primaries (Bolduc!) saw big losses in the General.”
Don Bolduc was the U.S. Republican Senate nominee in New Hampshire who lost to Democrat Sen. Maggie Hassan this midterm cycle. O’Dea was considered a moderate Republican in the Colorado Senate race and lost his election to Colorado incumbent Democrat Sen. Michael Bennett, per Fox News.
Via RSBN, O’Dea specifically drew the ire of Trump and his loyal voting base this fall when the Senate nominee unwisely told CNN that if the 45th president ran for office again in 2024, he would “actively campaign against Donald Trump and make sure that we’ve got four or five really great Republicans right now.”
Trump responded to O’Dea’s comments, noting, “MAGA doesn’t Vote for stupid people with big mouths! Good luck Joe!”
O’Dea’s midterm loss in Colorado seems to indicate that Trump’s prediction was correct.
“Will they ever learn their lesson?” Trump continued in his Monday statement. “You can’t win without MAGA!”
Trump’s warning to weak-kneed Republican candidates came on the heels of “232 wins and only 22 losses” this midterm season, according to the president.
Trump spent the entirety of 2022 staging powerful “Save America” rallies around the country, rallying for strong America First candidates – most of whom rocketed to success in the general election.
In fact, the House of Representatives officially fell under majority Republican control following the midterms, as reported by RSBN.
Yep. I think it’s about time for a FR break for me again.
I get too wound up over things I have zero control over.
It’s stupid, but my Irish genes won’t allow change. :)
The electorate is approximately 1/3 R, 1/3 D, and 1/3 I.
The Rs can win without MAGA if they can win the Is.
The Rs can’t win the Is with MAGA.
It’s obvious. ANd Desanctus backed O’Dea.
Correct

It’s necessary for us all sometimes!
That’s been Bernie Sanders mantra his entire career.
The GOP certainly has NOTHING WORTHWHILE TO WIN if it fails to stand up for any core values other than its own graft and corruption income while in public office
Well we did not win with MAGA.
Exit polling? You think people admit to MAGA at the polling booth?
Wow.
Re: 43 - so no data to support the claims - got it. Just “believe it because we say so”.
No wonder the Republican party has such challenges.
Yup. I think it’s obvious that the Republicans need MAGA to win. But, it may also be true that MAGA needs the rank-and-file Republicans to win.
You may be quite right.
But President Trump is apt to bring over more independents with data informed claims instead of “I say this so it must be correct”. That has not always worked out so well.
trump blamed his wife? No
News media reported that Trump blamed his wife
You know, some of you people need to stop pretending the news media is legit
Amen.
“He appeared at a Trump rally”
He did. And even then he never mentioned Trump. He shuffled up to the podium, gave Trum a No eye contact fish handshake and never mentioned him
It was shocking.
Re: 53 - there’s more than a few MAGA supporters that are willing to purify the Republican party of non-MAGA types and believe that is the path to victory. Exhibit A - Kari Lake’s genius move to call out anyone at a rally who was a “McCain Republican” to “get out”. Yeah - that’s the path to victory!
President Trump NEVER blamed his wife.. total lie. Better check out those things God hates.
If O’Dea had won we would have never heard the end of it. How Trump has lost it. Go away you stupid craven fool.
