Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) announced on Friday that he will not run for Louisiana governor in 2023, saying that he would instead seek to advance a series of longtime legislative priorities in the Senate.
“When I was elected to the United States Senate, I was given a job to represent the people of Louisiana and serve the United States of America,” Cassidy said in a statement. “For the last several years, I have been working on specific legislation that is critical for the future of our state and country. I don’t know if these solutions will pass, but I know they will not pass if I decide to run for another office.”

Cassidy is almost as liberal as John Bell.
The idiot finally realized that he could not win, and will not win the when his election comes up in four years. The state and the nation are stuck with this creep for another four years.
At the end of this term, he will. I don't think Cassidy can win re-election.
Anybody know what these "critical legislative issues" that he is pushing are?
Voted to impeach Trump. Goodbye.
Took FTX money - taxpayer money stolen for Ukranian/Dem slush fund.
Yeah the impeachment vote is a bridge too far for me.
Cassidy can eat a bag of dicks.
This is exactly how I feel, plus I doubt he’d win, I would not vote for him even if he does have an R by his name, he’s a POS
I hope former Democrat Cassady draws a primary opponent to boot his ass from the seat...or give both Louisiana’s senate seats to Kennedy, the funniest Republican in Congress and double up on the fun
Scumbag RINO
“Good and while you are at it stop being a Senator also.”
It seems like the great state of Louisiana can do much better than this mediocre ‘tone deaf’ tool.
I don’t think he would win.
Good and good riddance !
“I hope former Democrat Cassady draws a primary opponent to boot his ass from the seat..”
Louisiana does not have “primaries” as the term is normally understood.
If Cassidy even runs for re-election he will surely draw significant conservative opposition — unless the Uniparty buys off his potential competition.
We’re always told that primaries are the places where conservatives can make themselves heard by voting out RINOs, and then we must all unite to defeat the Democrats in the general election, even if it means holding our noses and voting for someone like Dr. Oz (which is exactly what we did). OTOH ask Doug Mastriano, Kari Lake, Blake Masters, Don Bolduc, etc. about what happens when a CONSERVATIVE wins a primary against a RINO.
Party unity? WHAT party unity? Never heard of it.
As far as primaries, the puppetmasters always try to rig the game by making sure their pet RINO is massively well funded and, if necessary, manipulating multiple bought-and-paid-for “conservatives” onto the ballot in order that they split the non-RINO vote and let the RINO sneak through to the general election.
Don’t be too surprised when something very much like that happens regarding Cassidy’s next election. The GOPe adores him.
Rino Cassidy could not qualify for dog catcher.
Probably a dozen different “true conservatives” will run against him in the open primary so he will get the top spot in the runoff with a socialist Democrat (see, the Dems aren’t dumb and won’t let their vote get split up between multiple challenger) and then it is hold your nose time again.
So Time to get smart and coalesce behind a Single conservative challenger so this scenario doesn’t play out.
“he would instead seek to advance a series of longtime legislative priorities in the Senate.”
I’m sure they will all favor Republican initiatives ... Bwhahahahaha
I think John Kennedy will be Louisiana’s next governor.
