Brandon wishes all of the newly unemployed a very Merry Christmas!
Supposedly, they had thousands of programmers working just on Alexa. No wonder it never worked very well - can you imagine how hard it must be to coordinate the changes among that giant mob of software wizards?
What timing. Right after the election.
This trend is making me nervous. A few months ago my in box would be full of recruiter emails. Now, not so much and my own company has a hiring freeze now. I have no intention of getting jabbed if a new company requires it. Got kids in college and a mortgage payment. Go to vote the bums out and the bums cheat and stay in place.
Poor, poor Jeff. Horrible if he loses a buck.
He does pay very well, however. My doc’s nephew graduated from Seattle U a few years ago and was hired right away as AMZ advertising manager for a cool $1 million per year. Wonder whether he’ll survive the firings.
Depression right around the corner folks. Recession already here.
best economy ever.
Since the vast majority are proud demonrats to begin with, Isn’t this what they voted for?
will brandon accuse amazon of price gouging, putting profits before people? will the leftist mob take the same aim at bezos as they did at elon for re-organizing? i think not
Alexa, where is the unemployment office?
They had to choose between firing people or cutting off libtard donations.
Guess who won
Alexa?
A lot of companies are doing the same gearing up for the 2023 hit of inflation Biden is still blowing money like there’s no end to money.
Things must be bad if Alexa got the pink slip. I don’t think they were even paying her minimum wage.
Alexa and Children hit hardest!
does this mean there’ll be less Alexa eavesdroppers now???
“Alexa, how’s the morale at your office?”
Something came to mind to me the other day. Maybe I’m just up with current economics. But why does it make sense for us to export raw materials to China for China to create products for us and send them back to North America? The paper mill near me got me thinking. They use to produce pulp and paper but can’t compete on paper against US makers, so will just be producing pulp. So that pulp will go to China for their paper companies to send paper back to us. But same thing applies to all manufactured good made out of plastic for example.
“Amazon is aiming to eliminate about 10,000 jobs, mostly in retail, devices and human resources..”
I once did project management for an HR organization. Biggest group of pantywaists ever. Always preaching the values of engagement & diversity. Maybe layoffs will give these soon-to-be-ex-Amazon HR types an opportunity to become more diverse, especially if they happen to be white.
Amazon is planning for the upcoming deep recession. Hopefully people take this as a clear tip-off of what to expect in 2023.
