Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) declared on Tuesday an invasion is happening on the southern border and moved to invoke invasion clauses of the U.S. and Texas constitutions to allow him to boost security at the border.
“I’m using that constitutional authority, & other authorization & Executive Orders to keep our state & country safe,” Abbott said in a tweet.
The governor, who was reelected last week, plans to take a variety of actions, including deploying the National Guard to repel and turn back immigrants he says are trying to cross the border illegally, sending the Texas Department of Public Safety to arrest and return border immigrants who did so and building a border wall in multiple counties.
He also plans to deploy gun boats to secure the border, designate Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, enter into agreements with other states and foreign powers to enhance border security and send resources to border counties to help them respond to the “border invasion.”
Article IV of the U.S. Constitution states that the federal government shall protect each state against invasion.

It is a start and sounds like he might be trying to set up a Presidential run, if he can pull this off.
Of course the democrats will bring him to court over it.

Good for Gov Abbott. He saw what happened to Kari Lake in AZ and picked up the fallen flag on the battlefield and is running with it. He’s picking up the slack. He should have done this earlier, but it took a woman with cajones to get the ball rolling; however, Abbott has become our new point of the spear and I wish him 100 percent success as with the new ruling by the Dem judge disallowing returning illegals for any reason; new action must occur before we are totally overrun by them.
I hope Gov Doocey (sp?) in AZ jumps right in and does the same thing while AZ is still under his Pub control. Go for it AZ Gov; join Abbott while you are still in office. You’ve got until January so you have some time to really have an affect on illegal migration and make it difficult for the new female Dem dufus Hobbs by forcing her to have to reverse the decision that will stop much of the invasion in AZ.
Will make her look really bad so that the AZ people will fully realize what a catastrophe the loss of Kari Lake being their Gov really is for them. Do it, AZ Gov. Join Abbott; all border Govs should do this, NV included.
