Joe Biden Kisses Codifying Roe v. Wade Goodbye
PJ Media ^ | 1/14/2022 | Matt Margolis

Biden’s big pitch for the midterm elections was the promise that, if Democrats won two more seats in the Senate and held the House, they would codify Roe v. Wade into law.

Well, they’ve failed to do that. With a runoff election in Georgia, the best they can hope for is a 51-seat majority in the Senate, and this morning both NBC News and the Daily Caller are projecting that Republicans have flipped the House.

On Monday, six days after Election Day, Biden acknowledged the political reality that codifying Roe won’t happen.

“Mr. President, what should Americans expect from Congress as it relates to abortion rights after the midterms?” NBC’s Peter Alexander asked Biden.

“I don’t think they can expect much of anything other than we’re going to maintain our positions. I’m not going to get into more questions. I shouldn’t even have answered your question,” Biden said before adding, “I don’t think there’s enough votes to codify, unless something happens unusual in the House. I think we’re going to get very close in the House. I think we’re going to be very close, but I don’t think we’re going to make it.”

CONSOLATION PRIZE TO A DISAPPOINTING ELECTION:

In addition to the Democrats losing the chance to codify Roe v. Wade, with Republicans controlling the House, the blatantly partisan January 6 Committee will be disbanded.

How many times have we heard about Brandon/DEMs abandoning some policy/ruling, then go ahead and do it anyway?

Exactly. "Student Loan Forgiveness" as well. The Dems know their electorate is a bunch of suckers.

The SJC said it is a states issue, so any federal law would be a violation of states rights and also be unconstitutional.

this morning both NBC News and the Daily Caller are projecting that Republicans have flipped the House.

I was in a restaurant last night and they had NBC News on (among others). NBC gloated for 10 minutes (of a 30-minute news show) that the Democrats held the Senate. They took about 30 seconds to cover the Republicans flipping the House. See Tagline.

Why didn’t the demonrats see that it was done under Jimmy Carter? Because they’re idiots.

Democrats are going to be putting abortion rights on every state ballot for the next few elections to drive turnout, the same thing they did with drugs.

He doesn't need to pass it at the federal level.

Laws protecting abortion are getting passed at the state level so far everywhere they've tried to pass them.

Yep. It works so they'd be stupid not to.

First is assume Dems are lying.
Second, what is their true strategy?

In MI the state constitutional amendment proposal got on the ballot after the SCOTUS leak. It caused a surge in the women’s campaigning and vote turnout-—sorry to tell fellow pro-lifers but it was true.

If the abortion issue is still live in 2024 it means a big women’s turnout to defeat GOP.

But if I’m right it means the MI, CA and VT states with no more controversy could ignore it and vote on other issues.

What I meant was, that IF they wished to codify, they should’ve done it decades ago. But I’m glad it didn’t happen.

The Supreme court just ruled than nothing in the constitution gave the federal government the right to control abortion and said it was a state issue.
So how does passing a law supposedly overrule the USSC?

RE: Laws protecting abortion are getting passed at the state level so far everywhere they’ve tried to pass them.

Yep, even in the supposedly more Republican state of Montana, a proposal to require Doctors to try all medical means to save already born babies who survive abortions went down to defeat!

It says a lot about what this country has become when the right to abort a baby is more important than protecting the country’s borders or inflation.

Yep. We seriously underestimated "Roevember" and how it would energize single women to become the most solid voting block for the Democrats.

And Gen-Z. Together they killed the red wave and abortion had a lot to do with it.

Sorry Joe, you can’t kill an unlimited number of babies. You’ll have to settle for the millions that will be destroyed.
