In its latest projection, far-left NBC News says the Republican party will narrowly win the House of Representatives by a narrower than narrow 219 to 216 margin.
If this projection holds, that will bring about a big sigh of relief and one of the rare bright spots in an otherwise disappointing midterm result for the GOP.
What was supposed to be a GOP wave — one I was sure of — turned out to be anything but.
When it was all over, Democrats actually increased their hold on the all-important U.S. Senate by one seat. Democrats could increase it further if current Democrat U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock wins Georgia’s December runoff against Republican Herschel Walker. Last week, Warnock did beat Walker by nearly a full point. Because no one topped 50 percent in that race, the state requires a runoff.
A nightmare scenario would give Democrats 52 U.S. Senate seats and control of the House of Representatives. If Democrats win 52 Senate seats, Democrats will not need U.S. Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Krysten Sinema (D-AZ) to pass legislation. That would almost certainly mean the end of the filibuster that both Manchin and Sinema refuse to kill.
Without the filibuster, the Senate could pass whatever insanity it chose — including expanding the Supreme Court, socialized medicine, and heaven knows what all — and a Democrat-led House would rubber stamp it, all of it, everything.
At least with the House under GOP control, there will be a check on the lunacy about to come out of the Senate.
Keep in mind that NBC already blew one House projection. Three days ago, NBC predicted the Republican party would win the House with a much safer margin of 222 to 212 seats.
So.

It doesn’t matter what we believe, it matters what we can prove.
Every candidate that believes they were cheated out victory should sue, and give everyone a chance to examine the evidence in question.
We can’t just scream “fraud” every time we lose and election and leave it at that, it soon becomes a crutch to justify losing without reflection on improving.
A pathetic showing.
D’s will get a bunch of bad $hit passed by peeling off assistant democrats.
Sir, you are slipping.
If you believe all of these 219 Republican House members count as "we", you really need to get out more.
The media is going to be on every single one of them like a flamethrower, and a lot of them weren't solid to begin with.
The problem is, in 2020, those who did try to prove it in a court of law or to the state legislatures were blocked from doing so by various procedural mechanisms or through outright obstruction and dereliction of duty. We were caught off guard last time and had no game plan for fighting the fraud through our corrupt system that blocked all our avenues for redress. Hopefully people are better prepared this time. So proving it is not enough. We had plenty of proof in 2020, but no remedy. We’ll see if that’s changed this time.
Having said that, what people think is important. In Brazil and other countries that have faced stolen elections, the people have arisen en-masse. Sometimes the outcome has been good and sometimes not. But when a system of government has broken down to such an extent that using the system to remedy the problem becomes difficult, if not impossible, then the kind of change needed requires broad public consensus.
AZ 1 came out of NOWHERE YESTERDAY!!
Or the day before.
D was winning up to that point.
Nice!!
The colorado clerk in charge said of a recount “we don’t make mistakes. It will be the same result” or something like that.
WIN!!
AZ 6 WIN
NY22 DEFINITE WIN
That’s 216 Before we win at least FOUR in ca.
220 at the least.
You are right.
Why don’t you try not to be a negative human being for 5 minutes and enjoy the victory.
Nothing worse than not really doing anything for the party but vote AND being negative

Yeah I’m still sticking with 222.
Who gives a ####?
It would die in the senate but what? It would make a “statement”?
The “statement” will be #### you mr biden with your budget
That’s TANGIBLE

I see that perfectly. They've deliberate sabotaged plenty of things. They think that my remaining silent, we don't see that as their condoning everything the Democrats do. They're complicit because they are more interested in their own personal needs and wants, than they are about the people who sent them to Washington in the first place. They want to keep things status quo because it benefits them. As I've said on other threads here, people need to change their voter registrations from Republican (if that's how they are registered), to "no party," and it needs to be done en masse. At this point, it's the only way we can send a message to the GOP that we are tired of their shit.
You misread. I wrote there are not enough votes for *impeachment*, not conviction. There are not enough votes in the *House* to pass articles of impeachment. Not with only a 219 or 220 seat majority. It will never get to the Senate. Because McCarthy can count votes, it will probably never come to a vote on the House floor.
There will be investigations, but that will be it unless the investigations turn up something particularly damning.
Yes, and put in their own committees to investigate Biden as well. And maybe those investigations turn up evidence that is sufficiently damning to win over moderate Rs to vote for impeachment.
shoulda been a bloodbath...
“Republicans projected to take back the House.”
This means the FBI will not be able to suppress the Hunter Biden story anymore.
The end of mass spending on non-issues.
The fight against Wokeness in the schools will be easier.
The fight against Soviet agression against the west maintained and looked at closer.
Border control and security for defenseless US citizens will finally not be taboo anymore.
Maybe that LGBTQ rainbow gravel can be replaced at the same time.
According to many states, voter turnout was down from 2020 and 2018.
Conservatives aren’t voting like they should because of the GOP, Inc. betrayals.
In some states, the number of ballots cast was below 50% of registered voters. Sad.
A bit of reality check here. If we didn’t get caught up with the hysteria of an expected red tsunami, the senate landscape was extremely difficult and it was expected that we would lose seats.
The senate elections we seem to be most disappointed about are in blue States which would have been unlikely pick ups.
Regarding the house we clearly underperformed, however it is true that the GOP picked up seats last time in an election where we were expected to lose seats. Therefore, there was less Left over to be accomplished.
Still we should have taken the house by more than this but it is absolutely essential that we did take it considering the senate remained in Democrat hands.
There are many reasons for the disappointments however one factor is what I would call rigid conservative republicans refusing to vote in the general election. A good example of this would be the oz election.
