A recent report published by a trio of college professors details "effective responses" school leaders can use when questioned by parents who are concerned about critical race theory curricula.
"The goal of effective messaging is essentially to step away from the fueling of fear because people can very easily go down a rabbit hole of engaging in debates that become echo chambers," Francesca López, one of the authors of the report, said, according to Education Week. She serves as the Waterbury Chair in Equity Pedagogy at The Pennsylvania State University.
"Effective messaging moves beyond just engaging in a debate," she added. "It keeps people focused with a clear message on what, for example, equity-focused approaches in education are really meant to do."
The report was published in Kappan, an outlet that reports on issues related to education, and appeared in the publication's November issue.
The report provides teachers and school leaders a three-step approach on how to address concerned parents, including: opening the conversation with a shared value both parties hold; "use active voice to name an antagonist (e.g., the people who are trying to divide us) and call out divide-and-conquer tactics;" and ending the conversation with a "strong, positive call to action that affirms common values," as opposed to being race-neutral or colorblind.

Unless people like this die in large numbers or flee to Canada or Cuba the battle can’t be won. This is why the GOP is worthless and an impediment to defeating the communists. Simple response replace all board members!
If a board candidate is an ex-teacher don’t vote for the candidate. If the candidate has a education degree don’t vote for the candidate. Doesn’t matter if they’re your next door neighbor a known good conservative they have the scarlet “E” on them.
Lobby the legislature to allow easy licensing of people to teach in the K12 system who have degrees and experience. Lobby the legislature to disallow the state education unions from maintaining their stranglehold on who teaches & who doesn’t! For example there’s no reason someone with a STEM degree can’t teach science\math in the K12 system.
The terrible track record the K12 system has demonstrated its inability to adequately teach the basics should make everyone take pause. That should tell you about the worthlessness of the colleges of education, the educational culture it produces and any degree they issue.
People should look askance at anyone with an education degree no matter what they are doing. Tell your kids in college if you are getting an Ed degree get out of it or combine with something else. Combine with STEM or business just combining with liberal arts or social sciences is better just the ed degree but only marginally.
Vote against every education bond levy. Form private schools and home school.

the Waterbury Chair in Equity PedagogyIt's down the street from UPenn, so maybe she should spend some time at one or the other COMPLETELY FAILED Philly public high schools that have placed "equity" over education, and which are not allowed to fail, reprimand, or control students, all in the name of "equity" and which has left generations of people in poverty, violence and crime.
My suggestion is to tell them to stick CRT up their ass and vote them all out in the next school board election.
