Former President Trump on Friday took aim at Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) amid rumors that the businessman could run for president in 2024.
“I Endorsed him, did a very big Trump Rally for him telephonically, got MAGA to Vote for him – or he couldn’t have come close to winning,” wrote Trump on his Truth Social account.
Trump has been hinting at announcing another bid for the White House as early as next week.
Trump also made a comment about Youngkin’s name sounding “Chinese” as he attributed the governor’s 2021 election win to his support.
“Young Kin (now that’s an interesting take. Sounds Chinese, doesn’t it?) in Virginia couldn’t have won without me,” said the former president.
The post by Trump comes a day after Youngkin’s Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears (R) said that she “couldn’t” support Trump if he made a third bid for the Oval Office in 2024.
“I could not support him. I just couldn’t,” said Sears, adding that voters are saying “enough is enough” in relation to Trump through their midterm votes.

No he is not. The Trump and DeSantis feud is a ruse.
Trump is behaving badly. It's so tiresome.
Good points. He’s also alienating governors he needs to rely on for electoral integrity if he is the nominee in 2024. He needs to building up an organisation and allies, but he’s needlessly and baselessly attacking them instead.
I think we’ll see DeSantis as a candidate in 2028 and could be the VP candidate with Trump in 2024...
Most swing states had semi-decent GOP governors in 2016.
With election-rigging RAT govs. in MI, PA, WI, and possibly NV and AZ, there’s not much of a chance that 2016 could be repeated.
It will take a major economic catastrophe (as well as changes of management in the State-Controlled Media Complex), to get the GOP back into the WH in the next several elections, no matter who runs.

Yes, Virginia (and the rest of the country), Donald Trump matters.
With his post-election popularity and influence at the highest, the former president’s four endorsed candidates in Tuesday’s elections all won, highlighted by Virginia Gov.-elect Glenn Youngkin, the rookie politician who beat lifetime pol Terry McAuliffe.
In the elections, two Trump-backed candidates also beat two of President Joe Biden’s endorsed challengers — the victories seen by some Republicans as a sign of 2020 election buyer's remorse and a 2024 preview.
“The power of President Trump’s endorsement is undeniable,” said Brian Jack, the former Trump White House political director.
“President Trump continues to be a huge boost for Republicans across the country,” added Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.
Trump has already begun endorsing other candidates up in 2022, notably Herschel Walker running for the Georgia Senate seat.
In Virginia last night, Trump endorsed Youngkin, and Youngkin embraced the support. But he also kept the former president at arm’s length as McAuliffe tried to build liberal support by bashing the link.
Media pundits and election analysts, however, noted that Trump’s endorsement 175 days before the election helped to solidify the GOP, giving Youngkin a firm base to build on.
Trump, who participated in two eleventh-hour telerallies, said, “I would like to thank my BASE for coming out in force and voting for Glenn Youngkin. Without you, he would not have been close to winning. The MAGA movement is bigger and stronger than ever before.”

President Trump tells the truth and it slays the TDS afflicted.
I’m not sure there will be many elections in the future.
Trump does hammer issues. In his speeches he brings up the border, taxes, inflation, foreign policy, election reform--you name it. That's why he's so popular.
The “feud” appears to be entirely one-sided, and therefore neither a feud nor a ruse. It’s just Trump attacking DeSantis, who is wisely keeping quiet while Trump shoots himself in both feet.
Interesting. Here is my take:
Our nation was formed with a federated government format. We have general state governments with their local subdivisions as well as a limited national Federal government as formed and limited by the US Constitution. Both of these forms of government have divisions of powers generally conforming to legislative, executive and judicial with each having different forms of appointment of such individuals as hold such offices. Generally these forms of appointment are generally limited to election or appointment with conformation or consent processes as are contained in the various constitutions under which the particular government operates.
To conduct the three areas of governmental offices for the general and federal government we have elections. Certain elections include the Presidential office of the Federal Government and certain elections, often referred to as “mid-term elections” do not.
During the run-up to any election, its related primary elections to select Party candidates, the election itself and the period immediately afterword there may be general discussion of future elections but it is sensible to expect public office holders and public office seekers to focus their comments and public discussions on the elections at-hand.
Failure to do so will normally result in public irritation and negative comment.
During the recent mid-term election for 2022 we have had the former President Donald Trump hold his signature rallies to keep interest in his political future and influence viable and to lend support for such candidates as he has endorsed for the good of the country, as he sees it, and for his political capital. These appearances are typical for major political figures and are in good tradition. During these appearances and the publicity surrounding them the former President has teased future announcements for future elections — again well within custom and convention.
In the three days following the 2022 election, when the office he may later seek is not in play or analysis or even yet in primary competitions, President Trump has made a number of disparaging comments, only suitable for a primary competition, when he has yet to declare for the office involved and where the normal custom and convention would have public discourse focused on the election winners and losers of the election just held. These comments give the appearance that President Trump is unwilling to have public political focus on anything other than his political pursuits and appear to be belittling of the great contests, elections and successes of the processes just finished. This shows a lack of statesmanship that is unsettling for some of his supporters. Other supporters see the Presidential office as all important and the former President’s pursuit of that office as all-encompassing and see no disparagement in his actions. This division in reactions by his supporters is recent and yet to be seen as permanent or impacting his future viability.
However, what is now impactful is the former President’s opponents on the left and in weakened factions of the Republican Party are using their surrogate media propagandists to recognize these possible missteps as leading to a weakening of heretofore monolithic support by Trump’s backers and supporters. President Trump is in control of the continuation of this division of his supporters.
There will be sham elections, just like any other Banana Republik.

Exactly right. You’d think after four years in the White House, he’d have developed an understanding on how to build a team, a coalition. DeSantis is a master of that.

Until the Presidents Working Group on Financial Markets (1998) is struck down, and President Trump resumes office, there IS no Republic as designed. None.
My fear, exactly. Might he be doing this due to the fact after these many years he is tired and being known as a no quitter, he can safely step aside head held high?
Knowing his words and deeds devastate his followers, why would
he continue down this path? What is so important to him that
such a decision is made so nonchantly? This is done for a reason. What is the reason?

I think President Trump is doing what he has to do.
So everybody he endorsed must now step aside and put their political ambitions on hold. He wants to go unchallenged. I think these are unnecessary attacks. He should be congratulating DeSantis and trying to unify the party as much as possible. Now Youngkin as if he is this big threat. I don’t like it and I’ve been with Trump all the way. How many will he alienate? Unless there is more to this, it just doesn’t make any sense.
