How bad the 2022 election was for the GOP, historically speaking
The Washington Post ^ | Nov. 10, 2022 | Aaron Blake

This would be the first time since 1986 — and only the second time since 1934 — that the opposition party has had a net loss of governor’s seats. Only once in the past 100 years has the opposition party lost both Senate seats and governor’s mansions: 1934. Republicans could feasibly do that. The opposition party has gained state legislative chambers in every midterm election held since 2002, flipping an average of more than 12 chambers. Republicans have currently lost at least three chambers — both chambers in Michigan, and the Minnesota state Senate — and appear as though they’ll lose the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, as well.

Nope.

Biggest issues were

1) Ballot harvesting. If Republicans cannot figure out how to deal this they are dead going forward and we will never have free and fair elections again

2) Fear of cutbacks of transfer payments if Republicans take control

3) Abortion was the only issue to a fanatical and significant segment of the population and they voted accordingly

"They want us demoralized....even in winning. Don’t fall for it."

This is it exactly. I cannot fathom how so many conservatives can be so blind as to not see this.

The tide is turning. We have the House and Senate. Biden is done come January and they know it. They've known it for a while. This is all orchestrated. Biden's celebration at losing both chambers of Congress is the equivalent of the Japanese celebrating the loss of their four carriers at Midway. "We've finally got the Americans right where we want them!"

Tsunami, wave, trickle, puddle...who gives a damn? All concocted by the media anyway. What matters is control. We have it now, and with a greater number of actual, constitutional, conservatives.

Take a moment. Look at the facts. Embrace this victory and ignore everything else. We have a long fight yet ahead of us. Man up soldiers.

Troll.

Trump wasn’t on the ballot.

But the GOP-e pulled funding from Bolduc in New Hampshire in late October (just when regular people are starting to think about the election), didn’t fund much in Arizona, and put a lot of help to Murkowski in Alaska, for starters.

And Linda Grahamnesty proposed Federal legislation on abortion which didn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of passing, which helped energize the blue base.

Single women broke for the Dems, GOP was net -37% there; despite that AND the cheating, AND having to defend a LOT more Senate seats than the Dems, we took the House and still might take the Senate.

The answer is throw out the RINOS and pass laws stopping election fraud.

Also — the abortion will cease to be a major issue in the future: several states passed laws allowing abortion through all 9 months, so it’s not an election issue there anymore; and insurance companies are beginning to fund abortion tourism as a benefit.

I don’t think it was ‘bad’ per se. I think it just accentuates that we as a nation are irrevocably split. Makes no sense to me that many people will vote Democrat no matter how bad their polices are. They voted for Fedderman, for crying out loud, no matter that he can’t communicate.

The Dems are beginning to turn on each other: they really expected Roe v Wade to give a blue wave.

As cover, they are cooperating with the GOP-e to spin and lie and try to attack Trump.

91% of his endorsements WON.

The question is, how come the MAGA people always have to compromise for an “electable” candidate, but when that electable candidate loses, the RINOS get off scot-free?
Oz was a Muslim anti-2nd Amendment, and not the first choice of the MAGA crowd; the wise superiors gave their support to him in the primaries, forget about Trump doing so.

And, how come so many nutcase liberals get elected, despite being out of the mainstream? The Dems elected a literal dead man, and then there is Fetterman.

Also, look at the downballot races: apparently the Dems *lost* something like 900 state offices which they had held.

You have massive voter fraud, especially mail in voting.
It has nothing to do with the “message”.

the abortion will cease to be a major issue in the future:

I've been saying that the Dems can only milk this issue for this election cycle.

Then for 2024 and beyond, what will they have then?

It doesn't matter, they will still have the media, and too many people believe the corrupt media

They’re blowing it now by chasing the mechanical rabbit of the Uniparty/media’s new Trump v DeSantis narrative. DC GOP, the party of Rubes, Chumps, Traitors and the bought and paid for.

Single women voted this year and voted hard Democrat.

So they've become the new "black vote".

Just every 2 or 4 years, instead of "slavery", remind them of "backyard alleys" to keep them on the Dem plantation.

One of the few ‘good’ outcomes in this situation is that it probably keeps Biden in to run as President in 2024. A massive red wave would have opened the door to leave early. Two more years of biden isn’t good for the country, but ‘might’ help the gop win a election, if that matters.

We won the House by wide margins and according to the leftard media, WE LOST????

Wide margins??? We were expected to pick up 30+ house seats. Now were are looking at the 5-10 range. There is still a possibility the Republicans won't even take that House back at all! Hate to say it, but it was a terrible night.

Actually, it wasn’t bad. We will end up with House and Senate. We were successful. Only RINO’s and libs believe the Patriots were not successful.

Yes, it wasn’t exactly a big defeat for Republicans. And yes, Trump, abortion, corruption accounted for the red fizzle. Add to that the continued “big sort” — blue states are becoming more Democrat, both in numbers and in intensity of partisan emotion.

Going forward, though, one problem is that candidates who support the Trump agenda often said stupid things that cost them votes. The party can’t win on just MAGA and can’t win without it, but it hasn’t been able to work things out between factions. The Republicans don’t know how to coordinate their two wings enough to be able to fly.

Yep! So true! They have seen inflation with their own eyes every time they buy groceries and put gas in their vehicles and they still believe the freaking mediavomits narrative! That everything is fine there is no inflation and that the Republicans are fascists and racist etc. etc. But I’ll tell you something some of us are going to be skipping Thanksgiving because the prices have gotten outrageous…example 1doz eggs 3.98…and yet they voted for the same crap. Why because the media had an agenda a narrative and went full gang buster on it and our leaders POS backstabbing bastards sat behind their big comfy chairs and let the rats carry the narrative. The only one that was out there sticking his neck out was Trump and look how he is being treated . Yes sometimes he says stupid things but let’s face it out of everybody in DC this man has the basketballs and LOVES THIS NATION to risk it all!! And yes I would vote for him in a heartbeat again.

The GOP has one more chance in 2024, but by then the country will be in dire condition. Starting this winter people will be freezing in their darkened homes due to heating oil shortages and likely blackouts. Grocery shelves will soon be as empty as those in Venezuela. Gasoline prices will be inching toward $6 per gallon and double digit inflation will be decimating paychecks and pensions. The GOP better get on point because after 2024 the US will have become just another failed socialist state.
