Gov. Ron DeSantis may believe Tuesday night’s re-election was a “win for the ages,” but former President Donald Trump isn’t sold.
Trump took to Truth Social to diminish DeSantis’ accomplishment Wednesday.
“Now that the Election in Florida is over, and everything went quite well, shouldn’t it be said that in 2020, I got 1.1 Million more votes in Florida than Ron D got this year, 5.7 Million to 4.6 Million? Just asking?”

I agree, I’ve been watching DeSantis since his days
as a congressman, would see him on tv and was impressed
with him...DeSantis will carry the MAGA torch without
all the pettiness and vicious personal attacks....I like
the way DeSantis turned down the witches from the View,
he showed clips of what they had said about him to show
why he turned down the opportunity to appear on the show.
That’s how you do it. DeSantis told the DOJ to stay out
of his state for election monitoring, the guy knows how
to push back in a mature way.
Christina Pushaw is also great, I hope she hangs around.
The left doesn’t mind DeSantis because he “looks and acts like a normal politician.” That is to say, he’s buyable. He’s not worth seven billion dollars. Nor would he know how to use that kind of money even if he had it.
The deep state is scared shitless of Trump because he is nothing if not vengeful. He’s waited four years. He has the power of big money behind him (his own—not someone else’s—so he cannot be bought) and, he knows how to use it.
He will use a second term to take the deep state apart. It will be tried and convicted. After all the laws it has broken, and what it has done to the FBI, DOJ, IRS, CIA, billions of taxpayer dollars to Ukraine and Zelensky, the wanton invasion at the border, the destruction of the U.S.’s energy independence, and a return to groveling at the feet of the Saudis and the Venezuelans? Wokeness in the military?
There’s just not enough popcorn.
Trump’s time may have passed or he may be stronger then ever.
Either way, this is not a good play.
Either you are an anti trumper or you are one of the gang who want this to be like an episode of Gilligans Island
Trump does not like DeSantis’s act. We don’t know what it is he does. What we do know is DeSantis takes care of Florida and little else. Not trump. Not us
He has done nothing to assist Trump that we can see
We also know this:
We know trump takes care of the country to the best of his capacity as far as we can see
We do NOT know this about DeSantis.
The nomination is Trump’s to lose.
And for some strange reason, it seems he’s trying to lose it.
Rather than trying to win over, or even keep potential allies, he chooses to put people on the defensive.
Recall in 2015 when he said of John McCain (and keep in mind, I'm no McCain fan) "He's not a war hero. He's a war hero 'cause he was captured. I like people that weren't captured, OK?" (emphasis supplied.)
My uncle was a B-17 pilot in WWII, and many of his friends were captured. They were true heroes. I found the remark beyond careless and offensive.
The point is that DJT chose to insult and offend, when tact and diplomacy would have better served. McCain (and many, many Vets never forgot his foolish remark.) Skilled diplomats can disagree with folks in a reasoned way, and it's possible to highlight differences without a smackdown.
Move forward to McCain's vote on the GOPs excellent "skinny repeal" bill that would have removed the individual mandate for what's-his-name care.
McCain settled a score with Trump when there needn't have been one to settle.
And, as Reagan was fond of saying, there he goes again.
I also suggested that he might be playing coy, while outing all of you never Trump types.

As usual Trump has all the right enemies and Desantis has all the wrong friends. This is not hard, people. Trump is not GOP and is not beholden to anyone. DeSantis is. Next!
