Kevin McCarthy declares GOP will take majority in the House, push out Pelosi as speaker

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy declared victory on Tuesday saying that Republicans had secured enough seats to flip control of the U.S. House of Representatives.

"I want to thank the millions of supporters across this country," said McCarthy, R-Calif. "It is clear we are going to take the House back."

McCarthy told a throng of supporters at a victory party in Washington, D.C, that the feat was possible because of the diverse array of candidates Republicans had recruited this cycle.

"If you believe in freedom, hard work and the American dream these results prove there is a place for you in the Republican Party," said McCarthy. "We are expanding this party."

The comments came despite control for the House of Representatives being too close to call. While Republicans had succeeded in ousting vulnerable Democrats, a significant number of House races had yet to be called.

Well Trump has now endorsed RINO McCarthy. What happened to Jim Jordan? I was hoping to see him on an inside track.

The early vote was blue and in a lot of places the much hyped Election Day GOP turnout never materialised.

The GOP and Deem establishment were the big winners last night. I hope Trump:got the message to retire.

People don’t want him for a second term.

In 2024, maybe reality will set in on the GOP establishment and party worshipers. The jig is up where voting is concerned, the ballot box is in theory still in place but only one party is going to win every time. They still believe their good friends across the aisle would never be so crooked as to take away the fair use of the ballot box. They accepted 2020 and did nothing to correct that crime.

Put your faith in God; not American institutions or Constitution. With the eyes of faith, this is a chastisement

Weird how the party of groomers and abortionists is never chastised.

I said all along that hyping a red wave would only hurt turnout. It did. Overconfident before the football game.

If we hold just a smidgen lead in the house that is good. The only effective ruling lead is a 2/3 majority in both house and senate. But Americans seem not to understand presidential vetoes. They kept talking about reversing this and that, but not possible without 2/3.

Also, even with just small majorities, the media would highlight how ineffective repubs are because nothing is changing. They would hang the recession around repub necks. Now they can’t.

Finally, we need Trump, DeSantis, and others to run. That way there is maximum exposure for repub ideas and fixes. Campaigns, debates, delegate counts... all of that is great exposure. With just one candidate the media can ignore them.

Bottom line: a tiny win in only the house is not the end of the world. It might be best.

[They should have lost 30!]

Yes.

There’s a good number of the American people simply too stupid to figure out high gas prices, high food prices, higher interest rates, war......

And they continue to vote Democrat.

SMH

Alaska will be closing soon and our gal is beating Lisa m

This is a signature race because Murkowski is a Democrat masquerading as a Republican with the full support of the the RINOs in Washington in spite of the citizens of Alaska.

Civil War III has already begun but it's not state vs. state - it's states versus Fedzilla. It's exactly what our Founding Fathers warned us about.

As long as we get rid of Pelosi, we’re doing great!

Trump should actually have demanded that she be removed as Speaker when she tore up the SOTU on live TV, but he was weirdly tolerant with his Dem enemies and their off the wall defiance. His weakness didn’t come across as noble forgiveness but simply as weakness, and of course this only empowered her.

Life is going to be much better no matter who is the new Speaker.

Well, I find that silly. I’m here in AZ and the polls were packed. Turnout was huge.

Certainly DEM turnout was huge in early vote.

Now, in some cases, you might have a case. DeWeenie ran 10 points ahead of Vance, so I don’t know what that is. But Lee Zeldin in NY massively overperformed.

New York is a dump. Apparently a majority of voters there want it that way.

The Republican total should be much bigger, particularly in a year where most things are going wrong in the country.

Yes he did. One commentator last night remarked that with so many running the heck OUT of New York because of the situations there, it may have been a factor in Zelden’s loss.

All that said, MI, MN, PN and NY have made the beds they will now lie in.

I like Trump, love his policies. And I’ll likely vote DeSantis in the primary, if he runs.
