Trump did have an amazing economy, then bad luck with Covid, followed by incredibly stupid policy shutting the country down and deferring to the health bureaucracy. We still had federal mask mandates when Trump left office. No excuse for that.
Only in the sense that it fired up the Rat base. The “Red Tsunami” was based on the assumption that the Rats wouldn’t show up to vote. Well, they showed up.

It isn’t that pro-abortion is a winner, it is that the most upset people turn out to vote. Overturning Roe V Wade upset leftists, and made conservative happy. That can create a turnout imbalance. Angry -> vote, Happy -> complacent.
Moved to Florida 20 years ago. Wife left CT 25 years ago. Met in Florida and love the state.
