The Founder and former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Twitter, Jack Dorsey has created a new social platform called ‘Bluesky.’
This is coming barely one week after the United States’ richest billionaire, Elon Musk acquired Twitter with a whopping $44 billion.
However, while Musk is busy resetting the microblogging website including the speculation to sack half of the workers, Dorsey has concluded plans to launch a new site with over 30,000 people signing up for Bluesky within two days of the announcement.
According to Insider, Dorsey announced the launching of Bluesky and revealed that the new app will offer “a new foundation for social networking which gives creators independence from platforms, developers the freedom to build, and users a choice in their experience.”
Dorsey said in 2019 that Twitter was funding work into developing “an open and decentralized standard for social media.”

Just a one year non-compete clause?
Will this replace DU?
Curious move though, as Dorsey did not sell his shares in Twitter and reinvested in Musk's new Twitter as a private investor.
I think Musk has been outflanked. Dorsey now has a roster of disaffected advertisers, a ready-made staff and a cost of entry a lot less than $44billion.
Expect a half dozen more that will divide attention and make sure they all fail.
yeah but just like other ‘alternative social sites’ like gab, parlor etc- the numbers likely won’t be there- they will have a small dedicated following for sure, but will it be large enough to compete against the already established and popular twitter where everyone has their many built up followers and supporters already?
And probably has a strong familiarity with the code.
There's critical mass at Twitter. So what if advertisers leave Twitter. Or if Celebrities leave. The party is still at Twitter. Elon can afford to pay for it for a little while.
May it be as quick as possible.
So, MySpace 2?
I’ll be sure to ignore it.
This!
All those liberal twits will decamp to Dorsey’s platform, as will the advertisers. And why wouldn’t they? That’s why they were on twitter in the first place.
Non compete agreement should have been a condition
My question would be, is he taking development work funded by Twitter to use in his new company?
Dorsey said in 2019 that Twitter was funding work into developing “an open and decentralized standard for social media.”
Ha ha. Those tuning in will be those fired by Musk.
This guy is a crook and Elon will prove it.
Seems to be Jack’s loss of Twitter has given him the opportunity to increase the Medusas throughout technoland.
Dr. Frankenstein created only one monster (all things considered). When one snake is destroyed, two more will be
at the ready to replace it.
Just a glitch, Igore. All in a day’s work.
He he he, thinking of the damage the possibilty might produce.
We kind of saw what happened the last time. Nah, I’m good.
I wonder if Jacks Blue Sky will have a Department of Government Communication and Control as they did a Twitter?
Blue Sky, Vietnamese phrase ‘troi xanh’ meant essentially dreaming the dreams of opium addicts. Sounds apropos.
