The Founder and former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Twitter, Jack Dorsey has created a new social platform called ‘Bluesky.’
This is coming barely one week after the United States’ richest billionaire, Elon Musk acquired Twitter with a whopping $44 billion.
However, while Musk is busy resetting the microblogging website including the speculation to sack half of the workers, Dorsey has concluded plans to launch a new site with over 30,000 people signing up for Bluesky within two days of the announcement.
According to Insider, Dorsey announced the launching of Bluesky and revealed that the new app will offer “a new foundation for social networking which gives creators independence from platforms, developers the freedom to build, and users a choice in their experience.”
Dorsey said in 2019 that Twitter was funding work into developing “an open and decentralized standard for social media.”

Yea . OK Jack. Now you want an open dialogue.
Elon has it covered. Thanks.
Jack’s on the right track here though. I’ve been saying this for years. Social media shouldn’t be a website. It should be an open protocol. That’s the only way we all own our own data.
I hope this drains every penny Dorsey has and he is soon broke.
A Weirdo Site for Weirdos?
Should have called it ...
PieInTheSky Social
or
Blue Check Social
All of the looney leftist celebrities from twitter can be his clients.
Maybe the copyrights for Air America have expired and are available for anybody to claim.
I’ll wait, and see. Still doesn’t excuse his behavior canceling people who he didn’t like because they had different opinions. It was his site. He can do what he wanted. However I like the new owners approach much better.
Any platform without Yoel Roth is off to a good start.
Fantastic. The more social media platforms there are, the better. Censorious monopolies are the problem.
They are all trying to bring down the African-American tech company.
Non-compete?
I thought that was Belushi’s name in Animal House.
Well, anyway now the left will have someplace to go and weep together after the election.
That’s funny...
With the history of Twitter preceding and indicating what Dorsey is all about, people should be warned to stay away from anything Dorsey touches. But, knowing democrats, they’ll flock to that new social network in the hope that it becomes the same as he old (pre-Musk) Twitter.
Non compete agreement should have been a condition.. This could get rough.
This is not designed to take down Twitter. Remember Dorsey did NOT sell his shares. He chose to accept Elon’s offer to roll his $1.4 billion in shares over to the new company, so he is on the hook like Musk and other investors (Ellison, Saudi prince, etc)
“Blue”sky. So basically a left-wing echo chamber and fund-raising platform for the democrat progressives.
The left is so scared of opposing opinions because they can’t defend their own positions. They require a social media site where they can stick their fingers in their ears and hear nothing but things that please them.
Oh no, don’t get me wrong, Jack’s a mess...his behavior was horrible.
That said, he’s WAY higher functioning than a lot of his reptilian Silicon Valley cohorts. If any of them can read a room, it’s gonna be him.
LOL
All the tweeters have scattered and the social media gods have many names and languages now.
Tower of Twitter has fallen.
