I’m not sure Trump wants to run, but if he says that now, it would take away a lot of his clout. And that doesn’t help either DeSantis or Trump.
And DeSantis is focused on his current governorship election. Crist is being promoted heavily by the Dems and money is flowing in to him.
Smart move.
If Trump runs, he’s the nominee... If Desantis buys into the Never Trumper bs and decides to challenge, it will harm him long term.
Trump had an election stolen from him, his supporters are not going to go anywhere, if he is on the ballot, he will get their votes, period.
If Trump doesn’t run, Desantis will have a clear shot, and would likely be the defacto nominee.. but with Trump on the ballot, he would just harm himself down the road to appease the NeverTrumpers in the short run.
