Cruz calls out Trump for not spending on Senate candidates
The Hill ^ | 11/03/2022 | MAX GREENWOOD

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is calling out former President Donald Trump for not spending more of his $100 million war chest to boost Republican Senate candidates ahead of next week’s midterm elections.

In an episode of his podcast, “Verdict with Ted Cruz,” that aired on Monday, Cruz lamented that Trump had spent “almost none” of his massive cash reserves in key Senate races, arguing that it should be up to the former president to provide crucial air cover for candidates whom he has endorsed.

Maybe Trump realizes we already have this in the bag. Why waste money to beat a dead horse?

As noted, Trump has plans for the money he personally raises with his rallies. Mitch McConnell is responsible for allocating Republican funds to candidates for office. Mitch is a RINO who has the power to help or hurt Republican candidates with Republican funds. Trump money goes to more than a candidate, such as all of the cost incurred in managing and running his rallies. However it is interpreted, the Cruz remarks are ambiguous and seem to be a criticism of hard working Trump. Ted Cruz is hard to take at times and I would not want him for a presidential candidate.

Your opinion.

I think his endorsements and holding rallies to support a candidate are worth more.

But, at the end of the day, if anyone with half a brain needs a campaign commercial to convince them how to vote next week, they they probably shouldn’t be voting.

“No matter. Trump has been out doing rallies.”

The rallies are costly. Transportation expenses for Trump and others he brings from outside the area where the rally occurs. Cost to rent the rally site. Cost for security and EMS services. Costs for crowd control. Ted Cruz should understand rallies aren’t “free”.

McConnell hold all the purse strings, he should have been shouting about MConnell through this whole election cycle.

Article says he “also” accused McConnell of withholding critical political dollars.

McConnell should be his first and loudest criticism.

Yep. Ted should understand that any of those GOP candidates couldn’t even afford the benefits those rallies bring to their campaign

So tone deaf

Trump endorsement win record tells you all you need to know.

Why doesn’t Ted have extra money to help R candidates?
