Wow, the DOJ wants to make it illegal to video pubic areas which have ballot drop boxes. Which means if you are in a car with a dash cam you could break the law if you record someone at a drop box.

You could have folks vote in person and use paper ballots with a chain of custody to prevent fraud...
Hold on there...that be racist talk.

The department said such “vigilante ballot security measures,” including filming voters at drop boxes, probably violates the federal Voting Rights Act. Exactly how does it "violate" it? Is there a specific law against filming public areas?

I’m pretty sure there was a legal decision a few years ago about when you left your house and were out in the public, you couldn’t prevent someone from taking your photo. I think it had to do with a celebrity who didn’t want his/her picture being taken.

Of course they do - because they SAY so.
There’s no logical rationale to allow unmonitored ballot dropping unless you WANT to cheat!

One should always be about to record what goes on in public.

Yeah, DOJ, put it on your to-do list right after arresting Mark Zuckerberg for spending millions to subvert the 2020 election.

Senator Rogers put Merrick in his place some time ago, when he first tried to creep into Arizona politics.
Rogers said, and I loved her for it, “INTERFERE WITH ARIZONA ELECTIONS AND YOU WILL SEE THE INSIDE OF AN ARIZONA JAIL.”
That may not be exact...but it is CLOSE.

The DOJ wants to make it illegal to vote Republican.
To: where's_the_Outrage?
I’ve got an easy solution. Make voting on one day, in a booth, with an actual ballot that is handed to you by election officials.
