House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, was “violently assaulted” in their San Francisco home early Friday morning, her office said.
“Early this morning, an assailant broke into the Pelosi residence in San Francisco and violently assaulted Mr. Pelosi,” Drew Hammill, spokesman for Nancy Pelosi, said in a statement. “The assailant is in custody and the motivation for the attack is under investigation.”
Paul Pelosi, 82, was taken to the hospital for undisclosed injuries, Hammill said, and “is expected to make a full recovery.”
Nancy Pelosi was not in San Francisco at the time of the incident.
The Speaker and her family are grateful to the first responders and medical professionals involved, and request privacy at this time,” Hammill added.
The Pelosi home, which is located in the affluent Pacific Heights neighborhood, has been a target of vandalism. Last year, their garage door was painted with graffiti, and unidentified suspects "left a pig's head on the sidewalk," San Francisco police said.

I’m betting on a personal attack. Nancy was nowhere near and I don’t think she’d want to stage it, because it would call attention to her husband’s bad behavior.
Supposedly there was a young woman next to him when he had his drunk driving accident. She left (how?) and I’m not even sure she was interviewed by the police. She was described as a young relative. But he did the famous “don’t you know who I am” defense.
I’m sure they have plenty of security there because all rich people in CA practically live in fortresses. So I’m betting on somebody who had access and a grudge.
I am sorry that Pelosi’s husband was violently assaulted. But it really is telling that, as the article describes, Pelosi’s neighborhood has been the target for violent assaults. I assume she lives in a rich section of town which should be secure. If the violent mob is now invading her neighborhood, the city really is in chaos. Limousine Liberals like Pelosi can ignore problems that just impact the working class and middle class but now reality is mugging them.

Everyone should withhold judgment until we find the motivation for the attack.
This statement implies it “might” have been justified. At this point we just don't know if a home invasion beating of the homeowner was good or bad. The homeowner may have asked for it by being rich and white. Equity may have been involved.
At least one Pelosi knows what an insurrection feels like.
