U.S. economic growth rebounded during the third quarter after six months of steady declines, according to data released Thursday by the Commerce Department.
U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) grew at annualized rate of 2.6 between July and September, up from declines of 1.6 percent in the second quarter and 0.6 percent in third quarter of 2022, the Bureau of Economic Analysis reported Thursday.
That means that if the third quarter’s pace of growth lasted 12 months, the U.S. economy would have grown 2.6 percent by the end of that time.
Economists expected U.S. GDP to rise at an annualized rate of 2.3 percent in the third quarter, according to consensus estimates.

Joe is fixing inflation by going after airlines for “junk fees”, like extra leg room, which he says besides causing inflation is also racist.
The correction will be issued after the midterms.
Right on. Government spending driving the numbers. All signs point to a deep recession starting in the 1st quarter. Baked into the cake.
Probably around 11/10.
Did the GDP rise or just the prices of all goods and services included in the GDP? In other words, did they factor in Bidenflation?
“Republicans fault!” /s
WHO DID THE CALCULATIONS, AND HAVE THEY CHANGED THE WAY IT IS CALCULATED?
Used to be 2.6 was just getting by. We’ve sunk to new lows.
After hearing that it dawned on me that I had no clue that first class cost more than coach until it was time to pay for the tickets. What a revelation huh? 😵💫
What’s in YOUR wallet?
Try buying food or gas!
Adjusted for inflation?
ASK yourself why major retailers are cutting back dramatically on their orders for future inventory.
In 30 days it will be “adjusted” down. This is classic two weeks form election GDP numbers.
No, it didn’t. The recovery is from people reopening their businesses and going back to work after the artificial massive shutdown of March 2020 which was engineered to destroy TRUMP’S masterpiece of an economy.
BS
Well, we should have an election every month then. That does the trick for not only reviving the dead but the economy.
What a coincidence!
In all the last 50 years of my adulthood I have never seen such a constant daily mass of politics. Many years ago we seldom heard a word and now it is a constant campaign.
The big deal back then was always the presidential year, usually kicked off by the Iowa caucuses. Nowadays the presidential campaign is in full gear practically after the midterms. So you are right, the politics never stops.
Ha!
The prominent feature of the fliers sent by mail, and most other campaign material, is negative against the opposition. I hardly ever see any proposals for doing things, anything positive that is mutually generally beneficial to all voters.
The debate in Arkansas last week for Spinate only had one minor candidate that got anywhere close to answering questions or providing any useful ideas.
On roads in areas of burgeoning growth Boozeman only had to day: “Well yes, roads are very important.” and never flinched. The others were just the same.
On the subject of growth, the only response the local mental midgets have is to raise taxes. Do they not realize or care that with inflation and growth come higher revenues? Try to explain that to dead eyed stares.
Getting closer and closer to “Jesus take me home, please.”
