How Zelensky’s Leadership Saved Ukraine
The National Interest.org ^ | September 12, 2022 | Kris Osborn

Posted on 10/24/2022 5:53:11 AM PDT by UMCRevMom@aol.com

Zelensky has shown a remarkable ability to consistently inspire Ukrainians and maintain a strong emotional connection to the country and its people.

Interestingly, pioneering research conducted years ago by the World War II-era Office of Strategic Services (OSS) continues to inform current thinking on leadership.

The OSS, the predecessor to the CIA, sought out decades ago to find some way to quantify and best understand the mix of attributes necessary to become a great leader.

“Are leaders born or made? I believe the answer is both,” said Mike Mears, a now-retired senior member of the intelligence community who evaluated and trained leaders for decades. As the CIA’s director of human capital, Mears studied, cultivated, and supported those with major leadership roles and huge responsibilities.

While some of the specifics of the leadership analyses may not be available for security reasons, the effort did prove quite successful in predicting the future behavior of those tasked with major leadership positions.

“It's not perfect, but they can, with some precision, filter out if the person has certain attributes. Do the leadership candidates have drive? Is that balanced by empathy? Are they optimists? Are they learners? There is a cluster of measurable traits that you can measure to predict future behavior. That was a great discovery [by] the OSS in ‘43,” Mears said.

Sure enough, there is a desired blend of variables and qualities essential to great leadership, including guidance, empathy, organizational and managerial skills, and, perhaps of greatest importance, the ability to inspire. As a student of great leaders throughout human history and a close observer of the war in Ukraine, Mears told the National Interest that he thinks Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky would fare quite well in the kinds of analyses once carried out by the OSS.

“If you gave those assessments to Zelinsky, I'm absolutely convinced, he wouldn't come out in the top 8 percent, which are people with super strong leadership attributes, he would come out in the top 1 percent,” Mears said. “He has shown himself that he's not a comedian. This guy is a highly competent manager, administrator, and leader,” he added.

For example, Mears pointed to Zelensky’s ability to consistently inspire Ukrainians and maintain a strong emotional connection to the country and its people. This measure of emotion or spirit, if even somewhat ineffable, is precisely the kind of thing that can motivate and inspire a population.

“We are talking about the man for the times, get on YouTube and look at any of his videos every night speaking to the people. He's not just going after that logical brain, he's going after that automatic brain, which is full of instincts and emotions and fears and all that. He covers it all in his talks. It's the most inspirational message I've ever seen. I just think it's a miracle that it all came together and the right guy was in the right place at the right time,” Mears concluded.

Our source in the OP said that the Office of the President is ready to create a dirty nuclear bomb to contain Russia. A headquarters has already been set up on Bankova with nuclear scientists and the military, who are urgently preparing a group for the development of nuclear weapons.

Our source in the OP said that the Office of the President continues to negotiate with the UK on the transfer of nuclear weapons to Ukraine. During the Johnson premiership, agreements were reached that Ukraine would receive several charges to deter Russia if the Kremlin threatened to use nuclear weapons. With the coming to power of Truss, the process of negotiations stalled and we are forced to look for ways to create a dirty nuclear bomb ourselves.

Our source in the OP said that the Office of the President is pushing for long-range missiles, including ATACMS , for the sole purpose of having the tools to deliver the dirty atomic bomb that our nuclear physicists are working on. Bankovaya believes that the best argument against the Kremlin is its own nuclear missiles.

source in the OP said that after Zelensky’s statement about a preventive nuclear strike on Russia, Britain curtailed the negotiation process on the transfer of an atomic bomb to us. MI6 oversaw this track, but due to pressure from the State Department, the discussion process itself was stopped, and London refused to be a party to the conflict, even if the transfer would take place informally.

The United States is trying with all its might to “influence” the Office of the President, which has recently begun to show many independent decisions and carried out a number of controversial operations even for the West, which led to an escalation of hostilities. This also applies to the unprecedented statement about the accelerated entry of Ukraine into NATO, and the high-profile murder of Dugina, and the attack on the Crimean bridge.
The Western media promptly hurried to “dissociate” the influence of Washington and the EU on these incidents, but Bankova had to quickly change her position, which was especially noticeable from the statements about the explosion on the Crimean bridge.
Moreover, Western curators directly warn the Office of the President that if the trend of “arbitrariness” continues, then assistance from partners will “decrease” even more.

source in the OP said that the US Embassy in Ukraine demanded that Zelensky stop his rash actions in Russia. Brigitte Brink conveyed to Yermak claims from the State Department regarding the explosions on the Crimean bridge and the murder of Dugina, all the initiative of the Office of the President greatly irritates the White House and takes the conflict with Russia to a new level, which is difficult to predict.

Update from Ukraine | Ruzzia may use a Dirty Bomb to explain their retreat.

Foreign ministers of France, Great Britain, and United States issued joint statement after conversation with Shoygu: We reject Russia’s blatantly false claims that Ukraine is preparing to use “dirty bomb” Source:

Wallace rushed to the U.S. for emergency talks (Defence Secretary Ben Wallace on emergency trip to US amid Ukraine security concerns and nuclear threat)

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/ben-wallace-visit-us-putin-ukraine-russia-nuclear-attack-security-concerns-white-house-b1033481.html

After which our Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin calls Shoigu (Russia) and Shoigu also speaks to Macron (France,) Wallace, (UK) Erdogan (Turkey) telling all of them...

“Moscow seems convinced that Kiev will certainly try to organize a provocation with the use of a “dirty bomb”. This was the reason for the telephone conversations.

The Washington Post writes: “Shoigu, in a conversation with Wallace, stated that Ukraine planned this provocation with the assistance of Western countries, including the UK. Wallace denied these allegations and warned that they should not be used as a pretext for more escalation.”

The Ministry of the Armed Forces of France reported that Shoigu warned his colleague Sebastian Lecorna about the rapid deterioration of the situation in Ukraine, as well as that the situation is trending towards an uncontrolled escalation.”

In general, the flames of the Ukrainian conflict are flaring up more and more, threatening to hurt Europe as well. That’s why today we heard words from London that no one expected (offer to mediate between Russia and Ukraine). It seems that something is brewing that makes politicians in the West fidgeting uneasily in their chairs.

@usaperiodical”

As I stated in my original post Ukraine’s Telegram channel Resident (with an insider in the OP) has made multiple posts over the last couple months about Zelensky’s effort to procure a “dirty bomb.”

It is so interesting that Shoigu outed UK’s Wallace directly and even more interesting that Wallace responded by offering to assist negotiations for a peace agreement.

“The British Defense Ministry surprised with its statement that it is ready to assist Ukraine and Russia in the negotiations for a peace agreement.”

I had read earlier from a different Telegram source that it was the Biden administration that told Truss to stop talking to Zelensky about getting nukes and so she did. I would love to have been “a fly on the wall” during the Wallace talks with the White House, the Pentagon and the CIA (he made the rounds.)

Zelensky better be careful; his reckless behavior could have negative effect on his life expectancy. It is clear the Biden administration is not on board for Zelensky’s nuke agenda.

The United States confirmed that in April it handed over to the Kiev regime the coordinates of the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the missile cruiser Moskva, according to the American edition of The New Yorker.

The magazine published a voluminous article about US military assistance to Ukraine and, as Washington now indirectly admits, it consists not only in the transfer of HIMARS.

So, the article says that in April, the United States, at the request of Kiev, transmitted the coordinates of the cruiser Moskva, after which an explosion occurred on it.

In addition, the scheme of the Pentagon’s participation in the clashes on the Izyum front was revealed.

The article claims that the plan of the offensive near Balakleya was developed in the summer by the forces of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the United States and Great Britain at one of the military bases in Europe.

At the same time,”the American and British military helped hone the strategy of the Ukrainians.”

The original idea was to launch a broad offensive on Kherson, but the command and staff exercises showed that this would lead to too many losses for Ukrainian military equipment and manpower.

“As a result, we focused on the idea of an offensive on two fronts. Shortly after that, Reznikov (Minister of Defense of Ukraine, - approx. RV) was informed about these plans, “ the newspaper writes.

With so many units deployed to the south, a number of areas in the northeast were guarded by under-equipped Russian forces and riot police with little combat experience.

Among other things, The New Yorker claims that Washington is not going to send long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine, since Kiev clearly expresses its intentions to strike at Crimea.

The United States cannot provide Ukraine with a lot of HIMARS MLRS-they are simply not available.

“Not because we are for you (Kiev, - approx. We do not trust them, but because they simply do not exist in unlimited numbers on planet Earth,” the Pentagon source added.

It’s the same story with the air defense systems that the Kiev regime is now so desperately asking for.

According to a senior US Defense official, the problem is more technical than political.: “We don’t have many spare air defense systems that can be provided.”

by losing 25% of it

WRONG - at the August peak, Russia only held 20% of Ukraine

after recent advances, that's been pushed back to just 15% temporarily held by Russia now, and shrinking

not great, but 85% of the country - which was supposed to fall to "mighty Russia" in just weeks - is still firmly under Ukrainian control

North Korea

Then the list continues with Pakistan…

And they haven’t defeated anyone. NATO has done most of the heavy lifting of supplies, intelligence, targeting, planning, directing, and unlimited cash. Advisors, special forces from us and the UK and Polee and mercenaries are filling their forces. Ukraine hasn’t done that much despite the hagiography.

In my post #10 I was not commenting on Stalin’s evil nature. I was referring to Stalin as a wartime leader only. And he did do a good job, much like FDR did. Both men set the grand strategy, but wisely left the details to the generals in the field.

Contrast that with Hitler, who constantly interfered with every detail, often down to the battalion level.

How large of an area can a “dirty bomb” contaminate? Large enough to contain Russia? I think not, it would take many dirty bombs to do that. I just do not see Russia using dirty bombs, now Ukraine might in a false flag operation. Z is desperate to get US/NATO troops fighting Russian troops. Z is more than willing to start WW3 to save his POS behind.

I don’t see how someone seeing a dictator throwing so many millions of his people at an enemy that they eventually are driven out is seen as doing a good job.

Anyone with a large enough population can overcome avoid losing a war if they just don’t give a damn and have a strong enough internal police to prevent being overthrown while sending many millions to their deaths as bullet absorbers.

🇷🇺⚡️The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has put its forces and means on standby in the event of a “dirty nuclear bomb” being detonated in Ukraine.

There is also a threat of a nuclear catastrophe at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which will affect most of Europe.

I will give credit where credit is due. Zelensky at least appears to be doing a good job. But that doesn’t mean he’s a great and wonderful man, or anything like that.

I agree. I do not view the US position on this war as being an endorsement of either Zalensky or Putin personally. To me, it boils down to the very simple question of one country invading another simply to take its territory.

If it involved two backwards countries in the bowels of Africa that are more tribal than national anyway, I wouldn't want us involved. But when we're talking about major powers in Europe, which brought us two ghastly world wars in the last century, I think unwarranted aggression has to be universally condemned and opposed.

Our source in the OP said that the United States demanded that the Office of the President stop the track with the withdrawal from the Budapest Memorandum. The Biden administration was dissatisfied with the independence of the GUR with the murder of Dugina and the explosion of the Crimean bridge, which is why they demanded that Yermak stop any uncoordinated operations. Information escalation of the situation with a dirty atomic bomb is dangerous for Ukraine and can become a catalyst for a new escalation in which the West does not want to take part.

For these purposes, in Zaporizhia, it forms several shock groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which from Orekhovo should organize a breakthrough to Tokmak, and then to Melitopol. In August, Zaluzhny’s plan with a counteroffensive on Izyum allowed the Armed Forces of Ukraine to regain control over the Kharkov region and go on a counteroffensive on the eastern front.

Germany had the quality. The Soviet Union had the quantity. You’ve got to go with what you’ve got.

I am uncomfortable praising Stalin here. One reason the Soviets were so unprepared in 1941 is that Stalin had ruthlessly killed off most of his officer class. But after the initial shock of the German invasion wore off, Stalin was (usually) smart enough to let his generals take care of the details.

Hitler interfered with his generals. And so did LBJ in Vietnam. And so did Bush II in Afghanistan and Iraq. Stalin did not. And Stalin won. There is a lesson worth remembering here.

There is no praise of Stalin to be made, any dictator who is powerful enough and has a strong enough death hold over any internal rebellion, and has a big enough population that he is willing to kill, can defeat most anyone.

That isn’t a good leader or a good military leader, it is just sending millions to their deaths until the enemy is exhausted and drained.

It just is, but it isn’t good or quality leadership.

The head of the GUR, Kirill Budanov, confirmed our insider that the RF Armed Forces are creating a military base from Kherson, and the news about their weakness in this sector is creating a false trail.

As we wrote right away, civilians are taken out so that there are no eyes, so as not to provide the city with food, water, humanitarian aid, since it is difficult to transport it, and everything is only for military needs.

Historical monuments are being taken out, as they understand that there will be many arrivals to the city. It will be destroyed.

Kherson will actually become the starting point in the future military campaign of 2023 with an eye on Odessa and the entire right bank.

As the saying goes, when you’re strong, talk about your weakness (”The Art of War”). There is also such a popular expression that Arestovich loves: “war is a way of deception.” Therefore, Oleksiy constantly lies to the Ukrainian people, but he does it at the direction of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Zelensky needs Kherson to fulfill the desire of the “customers”, as well as to secure the entire right bank, depriving the Russians of a good foothold.
