DeSantis endorses O'Dea in Colorado Senate race, bucking Trump
DC Examiner ^ | 10/23/2022 | David Drucker

Posted on 10/23/2022 2:25:57 PM PDT by Alter Kaker

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is recording a robocall for underdog Senate contender Joe O’Dea, a boost for the Colorado Republican after former President Donald Trump urged grassroots conservatives to abandon his campaign.

“Hello this is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. America needs strong leadership and desperately. That’s why I’m endorsing Joe O’Dea for U.S. Senate. Colorado, please vote for Joe O’Dea,” DeSantis says in the robocall, a recording of which was provided to the Washington Examiner on Sunday by the O’Dea campaign. “I’ve watched Joe from a distance. And I’m impressed.”

In endorsing O’Dea, DeSantis is charting a course separate from Trump in the midterm elections and stoking speculation the two Republican heavyweights are on a collision course in the upcoming 2024 GOP presidential primary. Just days earlier, the former president lashed out at O’Dea, calling him a “RINO,” which stands for “Republican in Name Only,” and criticizing him for speaking openly about their disagreements.

Running in a blue state that rarely elects Republicans statewide and trailing Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) in public opinion polls despite a favorable political environment, O’Dea’s strategy of distancing himself from Trump and taking centrist positions on certain issues is sensible. Bennet led O’Dea 49.5% to 42% in the RealClearPolitics average and has topped his Republican challenger in all six of the most recent surveys.

You seem to be of the opinion that Trump is Jesus. Political differences happen. Get over it.

You’re right. My bad. Including this RINO dummy O’dea, one of Mitch McConnell’s “great candidates”, Desantis has endorsed 5 out of the 34 running for Senate.

Point still remains that DeSantis COULD endorse plenty of other Senators BEFORE O`Dea who would align more with Republicans and also have competitive races to win.

Next month I’m going to vote for every candidate with a “R” after his name even if I have to hold my nose to do so.

That's how we got into this situation where RINOs collaborated with Democrats to steal an election from We The People.

RINOs like Lisa Murkowski and Liz Cheney are worse than any Democrat or Independent.

I don’t care if DeSantis disagrees with Trump, MAGA is not a Cult of Personality to me, but supporting that POS O’Dea is certainly an eentsy teensy itty bitty stain on Ron’s magnificent record to date. For shame! lol

You are absolutely correct. I I support both Trump and DeSantis, and they certainly don’t have to agree on every detail.

Without that jerk Romney the Senate wouldn’t even be 50-50. Most of the time the jerk votes with his party, as also do Collins and Murkowski. You are clearly mistaken.

Bennet led O’Dea 49.5% to 42%

It's all for optics, O'Dea is a lost cause in Colorado in a state-wide race.

With the pot-head laws, mail-in voting, massive electronic election fraud in CO, the state is as lost as CA, OR, and WA.

IMHO RINOs are worse than rats. They stab you in the back when the rats stab you to your face. However I would prefer to be stabbed in the back 75% less than the front.

I voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020 and after lots of mathematical/statistical analysis concluded that Trump won the 2020 election easily. It was stolen from us.

However, it has NEVER been about Trump. It has ALWAYS been about restoring America, and transitioning the GOP to the party of Americans including working people.

Trump is a PART of this movement.

DeSantis owes very little to Trump.

When I vote for Trump again in 2024, it will be a vote FOR America due to the other choice being Jacobin evil and year zero insanity.

I don’t look at the next vote. These Pukes do lasting damage and further identify the party with leftist ideas. The evidence is everywhere. Most of the Repukes in the Senate could have easily been Democrats pre Obama.

FU, Alter Kaker. Those of us on the right won’t fall for your attempts to divide our appreciation of BOTH DeSantis AND Trump.

Now do you see the importance of controlling the senate?

Do you think you are educating me? I might vote for the skunk, but he stands a slim, if any, chance of winning in CO unfortunately.

This is a NOTHINGBURGER...big deal. O'Dea at 90% for America is better than Bennett who would agree with us 0.01% of the time.

Conservatives are our worst enemy, since nobody will agree on issues 100% of the time, but we call people who is 90% America First a RINO.

If DeSantis tries to undermine Trump, I WILL NEVER VITE FIR HIM PERIOD.

I am so sick and tired of these squabbling idiots with mega egos fighting feuds with each other in the face of an enemy out to destroy us.

The GOP has had a disgusting history of internal bickering and feuding while the damned DemocRat Party continually pulls the Country and our society to the left..

SO KNOCK IT OFF, DESANTIS.

I suppose everyone here forgot about Trump endorsing Romney.

At least Romney toes the line when it comes to life issues.

I can disagree with somebody over taxes, etc. I absolutely will not vote for a candidate who doesn't support life.
