RINO Paul Ryan Wants Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to Run for President in 2024
Big League Politics ^ | Oct 17, 2022 | Shane Trejo

Posted on 10/18/2022 7:51:13 AM PDT by SoConPubbie

Former House Speaker Paul Ryan, one of the most infamous Congressional RINOs in recent memory, wants Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as the Republican presidential candidate in 2024.

NEW: The GOP 2024 nominee will be "someone other than Donald Trump," said former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan at a closed conference in New York Wednesday afternoon.

According to a recording of his talk, he named DeSantis, Youngkin, and Tim Scott as his three favorites.

— Bradley Saacks (@SaacksAttack) October 11, 2022

Ryan remarked that DeSantis’ tough talk against Disney was “really good for him, from a political perspective,” and that the American Conservative Union is adopting more aggressive posturing against “woke corporations like Walmart” in the years to come.

Other prominent Never Trumpers, neocons and RINOs have suggested that they would be fine with a DeSantis presidential nomination as well:

Can’t wait to watch Biden and DeSantis in a presidential debate. https://t.co/paBF0naP0y

— Meghan McCain (@MeghanMcCain) August 4, 2021

DeSantis should run. So should Pence, Pompeo, Haley, Cotton, Tim Scott, Sununu, Hogan, etc. Credible Republicans with governing experience should challenge Trump. There’s zero reason to nominate Trump again when R’s have a bench & Biden is polling in the 30s. https://t.co/lAWxtq9MjD

— Alyssa Farah Griffin (@Alyssafarah) January 17, 2022

Big League Politics has reported on how much of DeSantis’ populist posturing has resulted in little actual success in Florida as the courts overturn his proposed reforms:

Key provisions of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ legislation against wokeness in the workplace have been struck down by a federal court.

Chief U.S. District Judge Mark Walker blocked the “Stop WOKE Act,” claiming that institutional anti-white racism in the workplace is protected by the 1st Amendment.

“If Florida truly believes we live in a post-racial society, then let it make its case,” Walker wrote. “But it cannot win the argument by muzzling its opponents. Because, without justification, the [law] attacks ideas, not conduct, Plaintiffs are substantially likely to succeed on the merits of this lawsuit.”

The law had banned the teaching of critical race theory in the workplace. It banned any teachings or trainings indicating that any “individual, by virtue of his or her race, color, sex, or national origin, bears personal responsibility for and must feel guilt, anguish, or other forms of psychological distress because of actions, in which the individual played no part, committed in the past by other members of the same race, color, sex, or national origin.”

The feds are making it clear that the new national religion of CRT will be protected no matter what the states or the people decide.

Even though the Never Trumpers are demanding for DeSantis to be the 2024 Republican presidential nominee instead of Trump, there does not seem to be much support for this notion among the grassroots America First base.

Poll after poll has shown Trump crushing DeSantis in terms of nationwide support from Republican voters:

DeSantis must be prudent and not allow Never Trumpers and other interlopers get into his ear and convince him to run for the presidency. His time will come, but Trump has to avenge the stolen election and demonstrate the art of the political comeback in 2024.

Would have been better for Desantis if Ryan kept his mouth shut. I, for one, can no longer look at Desantis the same, and I did have a positive view of him.

They are scared that Trump is too polarizing and will make an easy win in 2024 come into doubt. From my perspective, if you win with a Romney it’s pointless. Trump is only polarizing because they lie about him all day every day why wouldn’t they just do the same thing to the next person. Trump took all they have and still fights for the same things he promised he would fight for and that makes him worthy of the trust of leadership. They haven’t even started on anyone else yet and I’m sure they won’t stand as firm as Trump already has. Having someone as vetted as Trump win means he has a real mandate. Trump it is.

That is exactly what LyinRyan was trying to do. Sour conservatives on DeSantis so they can push their chosen candidate. You fell for it.

This tactic is easy to see through...
DeSantis is a Trump like figure...
He needs to be destroyed...
How do you destroy him???
Link him to the nevertrump movement...

Why not just ask him (DeSantis) what he thinks?

It would be cool if DeSantis called Ryan and told him to STFU

And then announce publicly that he did.

I think DeSantis already said he will not run if Trump is running, and that he supports Trump.

I think Trump/DeSantis would be a good ticket. Also Trump/Palin.

Yes I know they can’t be from the same state but Trump could easily move to NY- he owns property there.

Amen. It’s not time for Desantis yet. We need Trump to not only straighten out THIS nation, but to jerk the slack out of a bunch of others in Europe and Asia such as he did in his first Administration.

Well there you go Freepers. You Desantis pushers are in the same league a Paul Ryano. I hope you are proud. A Ryano endorsement is the kiss of death.

DeSantis/Trump 2024 - to Rebuild America.

Yes, DeS for Pres. DJTrump as Veep will assassinate-proof DeS. And, DJT can have a great time traveling the world telling WEF creeps where to jam it.

“A Ryan endorsement makes me suspicious of DeSantis.”

If Ryan were telling the truth, I would agree with you. However, anything Ryan says is meaningless. He might as well be speaking in cat for all his words are worth.

Actually DeSantis is not like Trump. Trump was a billionaire, he never had to cowtow to lobbiests and corporations and likewise they had no use for him. Trump was the first politically untethered president since...maybe...George Washington? lol

I guess the irony is you could call Trump a rino as well...for the opposite reason.

Why are many here are reacting to Ryan? I don’t put any stock in what Ryan says or writes, pro or con. The only thing that comes out of Ryan that is worth anything is fertilizer.

That is the way I see it.

If Trump doesn’t run in 2024, DeSantis should run. I’d vote for him. Doesn’t make me a RINO to be pro-DeSantis.

DeSantis is Plan B.

But make no mistake, if they get Trump, they’ll get DeSantis, too.

Trump is the Hill to Die On.

The loser’s only goal is to keep Trump from being re elected . DS is the only viable alternative (distant second) at the moment.

I take it more as an anti-Trump thing than a pro deSantis.

That's probably true.

"Maybe you don't like DeSantis's manner or record, but he's a recognizably normal US politician. If defeated, he'd go peacefully. 9/x — David Frum"

Yeah, Frum, that's why we like Trump, because he won't "go peacefully" when communists try to cheat him out of a victory.
